What's this about a "five year" commitment?

This must be the wackiest conference ever imagined.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

That news broke about the same time our defense did on Saturday. It was a one-two punch that was hard to withstand.

Didn't they get a 10 year commitment last year? And aTm is still leaving.

Rice and Houston. About 6 miles apart. That's obviously a tough questions mainly because of the utter lack of relevance of either program.
Rynearson Stadium (Eastern Michigan) is about 6 miles from Michigan Stadium.

I want this roller coaster to end. Soon. With BYU being in the Big 12. I can't take it much more.

aTm isn't the issue, not as I see it. ATm was gone either way. Baylor wasn't acting out of emotion over aTm. It needed the conference to stay together and remain viable. The threat of lawsuit discouraged the SEC from snapping up both aTm and Mizzou or Tech outright and in one swoop, which in turn has bought everyone some time to allow Texas and OU to play out this stupid drama. As has been discussed, I don't think the SEC grabs anyone else from the B12 right now...too much potential overhead with other equally viable and less litigious options out there.

Thus, BYU may owe Baylor a free round.

Also, Baylor is ranked and helping the B12 stay atop of the power rankings, so Baylor isn't going anywhere right now.

                        A little background on Baylor...

After last year's "10 year commitment to the Big 12" Baylor borrowed the money to build a new stadium and some other things. They were convinced by Beebe and all the members (including aTm) that the Big 12 was in very stable state. I have read that ISU did the same thing.

Edit: In addition, their QB, Griffin, is awesome. He has something close to 40 of the school's records right now.

No doubt. The guy doesn't scoop anything. He is more like a news aggregator.

I think that this entire episode has proven beyond a doubt that he simply acts as an independent blogger but in reality is a media shill for UT.

Did I read his statement correctly? Did he, in essence, say "we didn't really apply for the PAC, I just called them to let them know that the B12 was working together to improve."

I am pretty sure he was a former Senator. Need I say more.

Right, I understand that. I thought I also read that k state did something similar with regards to their share of money.

baylor needed the B12 to stay together for reasons beyond football...they were deficit spending and needed the money to come in to cover their debts.

Regardless of their immediate or long term motives, they stalemated the SEC, forcing them to withdraw.
