I love your optimism and I hope you're right. But:

a) Everything in anecdotal at the moment, but more anecdotal evidence points to 10 teams.

b) Even if they expand, there is nothing besides an offhand quote and some speculation that BYU would be an invitee.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong. In fact, I usually am, so that's good news. Maybe in a year or two, they'll decide a conference championship game is more advantageous.

You Texas boys need to keep the BYU to Big-12 talk to a minimum. No need to keep hope alive for something that, if it happens at all, won't come for a couple of years. I am kind of with you. I have already posted prior how my enthusiasm has waned. I don't know if this makes me less enthused, but cements the feelings I already had.

I will still support and root for BYU. However, what I call enthusiasm is travleing to games like Oklahoma, paying good money for tickets and contributing to the Cougar Club will not be there.

It is interesting that there will be those who will chide me for that and yet that is what they are doing right now but claim to be great fans. Do a poll on CB and see how many are CC members. Those same non contributors will bash you though as a non fan for expressing some criticism.

Although to tell the truth, crushing both Tech's 2008 and Oklahoma State's 2009 aspirations in the closing game of each season was very satisfying. I was at both games.

I'm just one of those people that has learned that until it happens, there's no reason to think it will. I'm a pessimist and by being a pessimist, I'm never disappointed.

I am generally an optimist, but past experience tells me that if the Haves can find a way to screw the Have Nots, they will. We just spent the last week waiting to see if the Haves would screw Utah with a Pac-Big 12 merge. At the moment, the PAC-16 apears to be dead, and it's looking real good for Utah, but something still makes me want to wait for something official before I start celebrating.
