Didn't we just spend all day yesterday watching recruits decide on a school after having taken multiple visits, and in some cases having already told coaches that they were coming?
Which is my opinion is why schools like Ga. Tech and BYU that face it do not have the tradition of USC, Florida, Miami, etc. Have to rely on a hard nosed different approach in recruiting and get on kids much earlier and play hard ball at times like this to keep them from shopping. They can not afford to wait around until signing day hoping that 4 or 5 star recruit falls in to their lap, and if not fine we have 3 others waiting in the wings.

"Look I am fully committed to BYU and I am ending my recruitment"

If Bronco goes out and a kid has a verbal to a school and he starts to recruit him anyways and the kid says:

"Yeah I committed to Utah but I would love to visit and see what else is out there"

By Broncos own definition the kid is not fully committed which means Bronco is not being a hypocrite at all.
I think the claims of hypocrisy are found in that Bronco says that your word is your bond, yet in the case of Apo, he was fine with a player that was breaking his word to Texas. If he truly felt that way, he should have told Apo "no thanks. please go keep your word and good luck in your career."

His other policies about not visiting schools etc do not go to hypocrisy, at least not in my opinion. Those are just institutional policies and he has his right to establish them as he sees fit.
      Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I'm not familiar with the particulars of the Arnold case, but the speed (and the unprofessional manner) with which the plug was pulled on Reid was a direct function of upsetting admin and fans.

As far as what the word commitment means and the damage someone does by not keeping their commitment, it's a much more serious breach. But whatever. You don't believe that Bronco has never allowed anyone in the program that was the outcome of someone breaking a commitment to another institution or individual do you? No, I didn't think so. So let's not pretend we have the high road on this.

He is talking about Broncos continued recruitment of Kruger even after he gave a verbal to Utah. Granted just like the previous scenario I mentioned Kruger had no problem showing up to various BYU practices and games. As well as meeting with Bronco several times after he committed to Utah. Which by Broncos own definition means he was not 100% committed to Utah and in reality should have never committed to the Utes in the first place.

But do these kids represent the significant majority of high school commits? Also, it's probably a fair assumption that some of these kids already have their minds made up well before doing the song and dance. ESPN contacts them and says, hey hold off on your announcement until LOI day so we can film it live.

So let me get this right:

Not only do you not recruit something that is currently committed to a school, but you also don't recruit them after they've already de-committed? How much farther would you like to broaden the scope of this?

Thank you DDD. You said it better than I would have.

This is obviously the case as so many of these kids look completely uncomfortable in front of the spotlight and announcing on national TV.

The funniest was Calvin Smith not sure if the cameras bothered him or if he was embarrassed to commit to New Mexico on national TV.

But if Bronco really believed what he was telling kids, he would have told Kruger that he had committed to Utah and to stay away from BYU.

Not true if Kruger was fully committed he would have refused to visit BYU and take the free tickets to most of their home games. By visiting BYU, attending practices and showing mutual interest that proves that Kruger was not fully committed to Utah to begin with (in Broncos eyes).

Also add Jim Boylen (who took it a step further) and Urban Meyer to the list. In fact, I wonder what Kyle Whittingham does in these situations...
