    good catch.

so one texas, one SC (later rescinded), around 3 or so OUs, zero Flordas. (not sure if Heaps had offered from any of these).

Why don't these schools want any of these kids? weird.

I am shocked that TCU had zero Texas offers. I am sure many of those kids are in-state recruits. And TCU has a good team. How can none of them have received an offer from Texas? strange.

It also looks like per this list, not a single recruit from any of these 3 schools had an offer from SC, Texas, or Florida? Or Oklahoma (not sure about that one)?

Did Heaps have offers from any of those schools?
Heaps definitely had an offer from Oklahoma, and I think Florida. Dude had offers from just about everyone.

In all honesty, I don't get why BYU didn't want him. **** rivals, *** scout, and played in the Army game. CJ mentioned that BYU signed some guys who were class filler, so I don't get why they wouldn't make Fehoko an offer, even if they just considered him filler. I understand they made their evaluation of him and decided not to pursue, but with that resume and being LDS I kind of don't understand why you wouldn't at least take a chance on him. Oh well, apparently other schools agreed with BYU that his talent didn't match his resume and the schools that really pushed for him don't seem to match up with what you would expect of a kid in that position. I guess we'll see if those schools made a mistake...
I remember in the blowout game of 2001 that the Hawaii drummer, who someone said is Fehoko's dad, was really taunting BYU. I bet that is why.

yep. He had offers from all 3. Pete told him he'd offer a schollie if he committed on the spot, but he didn't.

Fehoko is embarrassed that his dad doesn't wear clothes to work and that he works on a field covered with trash.

His dad did give me a high five at the PCC one time though. I was wearing an Oregon shirt, was that a recruiting violation?

As Corso would say, "Not so fast my friend!"

Taking your own list, let's break it down a bit further. You can't look at overall numbers since BYU signed so many more players than Utah and TCU did.

If a school only had 10 scholarships to offer, and they cleaned up at the top 10 players in the country, by your accounting, that would be a subpar class.

Instead, let's look at the percentage of players that had offers from other BCS schools. That gives you an idea of the quality of players that you are recruiting.

TCU signed 18 guys, of which 12 had offers from other BCS schools (66%)
                        • J. Anderson: TCU, Kansas, New Mexico, Rice, SMU, Southern Miss, Utah, UNLV, Vanderbilit
                        • Battle-Smith: TCU, Texas A&M, Baylor
                        • Brown: TCU, Arizona, East Carolina, Iowa State, Kansas State, Nebraska, Rice
                        • Bryant: TCU, North Texas, Iowa State, Tulsa
                        • Carter: TCU, Alabama, Louisana tech, Missourri, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Tulsa
                        • Sam Carter: TCU, Miami, Baylor, Houston, Louisville, Oklahoma State, SMU
                        • Grant: TCU, Wisconsin, Oregon, Minnesota
                        • Hawkins: TCU, AZ, ASU, Arkansas, Cal, Colorado, Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Minny, Nebraska, Tulsa, Utah
                        • Johnson: TCU, Rice, Stanford, Texas Tech, UTEP, UCLA,
                        • Mallett: TCU, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Houston, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin
                        • Olabode: TCU, Arizona, Baylor, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, La tech, Minny, Missourri, Nebraska, Kansas, SMU, Tulsa, Wisconsin
                        • Roberts: TCU, Kansas, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Purdue, SMU, Texas Tech

Utah signed 19 guys, of which 11 had offers from other BCS schools (57%)
                        • Bolton: Utah, Arizona, Baylor, Houston, Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa State, New Mexico State, North Texas, Rice, SMU, Wake Forest

                        • Fehoko: Utah, Baylor, Cal, Colorado, Hawaii, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas Tech, UNLV, Utah State, Washington, West Virginia
                        • Kruger: Utah, Arizona, ASU, BYU, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington, Washington State
                        • Lotulelei: Utah, Oregon State, Utah State
                        • Payne: Utah, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Houston, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Stanford, Northwestern, TCU, Vandy, Wake

BYU signed 26 guys, of which 14 had offers from other BCS schools (53%)
                        • Apo: BYU, Cal, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missourri, Nebraska, Texas, Oklahoma State, Tulsa
                        • Fabuluje: BYU, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, North Texas, Purdue, TCU, Utah, San Diego State
                        • Fua: BYU, Arizona, Arizona State, Hawaii, Oregon State, Ohio State, UCLA, Washington
                        • Heaps: To many to list. Over 40 offers.
                        • Ho Ching: BYU, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Utah State
                        • Johnson: BYU, UCONN
                        • Kaufusi: BYU, Stanford (committed as a sophomore could have gone anywhere he wanted)

                        • Quezada: BYU, Utah, Colorado State, Fresno State, hawaii, San Diego State, Stanford, Washington, UCLA

And, quite frankly, I feel a bit icky including guys whose only offers from BCS schools come from Big East schools, but, I left them in there.

This doesn't even make sense. You're treating it as though BYU signing more players is not good for BYU. Bottom line is that BYU got 14 of those players which is more than any other in the conference.

Using your logic, it's better for a team to have just two players sign on LOI day as long as they have BCS offers (100%!) than it is to have 15 sign with only 12 having BCS offers (only 80%).

Walker: Utah, La tech, Colorado State, Louisiana Monroe, UTEP
Cullen: Utah, Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado, Florida State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Miami, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, San Diego State, South Florida, Tennessee, USC.

Looking the classes, the best offers top to bottom is TCU, almost every kid in their class has solid BCS offers. The best top of the class is BYU in regards to offers but the bottom of BYUs class is pretty weak (early commits really hurt in this category. Utah has a few guys (Payne, Cullen, Fehoko) with really solid offers but the majority of the teams the were competing with were mediocre mid-majors.

Utah and TCU went head to head way more than Utah and BYU. TCU actually dominated that matchup. However Utah and UTEP went head to head on almost every recruit and Utah killed UTEP. UTEP might have offered every kid in the state of Texas.

Based on offers it has to go:

                              1. TCU
                              2. BYU
                              3. Utah
Nice work. YOu have just totally annihilated Scout's credibility. How can anyone trust Scout now? (Scout has TCU at no. 65 lol.) Scout is a joke. A byu front.

And, quite frankly, I feel a bit icky including guys whose only offers from BCS schools come from Big East schools, but, I left them in there.

That makes sense, lets penalize BYU because Utah could not find enough players that want to go there to fill their allotted 25 scholarships.
