Yes, I will have dinner with you at the Salt Lick. But I probably shouldn't join you at the Yellow Rose. Sorry. Covenants and all that.

Thanks for answering by not answering. Looks like a burnt orange flag will be flying outside the Lebowski home on September 10th 2011.

So will someone at BYu ressurrect LandPoke's shirt from last year?

BYU fans are A+. The administration has graded that shirt as a D-, sorry!

I agree with the Dude about the awesomeness level of this game. I will be there--this is definitely a no-miss for me.

                    • Well, damn. Texas is probably going to be a national title contender that year. The new QB, who showed some promise in the second half of the national title game, will be Junior.

From BYU's angle, Heaps will still be a sophomore and the o-line is likely going to be in rebuilding mode (I can't remember how many sophomores were on the 2009 team). BYU will undoubtedly make a ton of money. A loss to Texas isn't horrible while beating Texas puts BYU legitimately in the national title picture (and BYU will be playing Utah and TCU in Provo that year).
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.

                        Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
                        Today is Friday, Friday (Partyin’)

                        Tomorrow is Saturday
                        And Sunday comes afterwards

                        • Just a little reality check for 3D and others here. It's not a big feat to schedule a 1 and done on the road. Utah, BYU, etc. have always been able to schedule those no problem. I've personally seen the Utes play in Austin (it is a great experience; I loved it; though in the Ute dark years the game was close). My brother started on the defensive line for Utah State and played at Nebraska during the golden Tom Osborne years.

Moreover, scheduling a one and done in Austin isn't the Boise State model, is it. I think BYU's top priority should be to get a BCS bowl game. How embarrassing that it's never had one.

I'm just saying there are two sides to the issue. It isn't necessarily cause to be dancing in the streets. Odds are BYU will get killed. But maybe it can take out Texas' starting qb early in the game.

                          • I am not sure anyone here is celebrating the act of scheduling the game.

I think people are excited about a really fun roadie to a great football location. As opposed to a roadie to Iowa State. Or Louisville.

Is that why you went MikeWaters on Tone Loc? Ineresting that UTEP and BYU are the two schools that agreed to do it the same day. There's a reason you don't see Utah, TCU and Boise going one and done with Texas, Florida or USC.

They are to busy going one and done with 3-8 teams like Michigan.
