Every alum I talked to wanted Del Rio, but I'm guessing people will be pleased with Sark.
Was Jack Del Rio available? John Fox is just coming back from heart surgery and you'd have to assume he's not yet taking on a full work load. If Del Rio left the Broncos in a lurch with four weeks left under these conditions you'd have to wonder if he'd ever get a job in the NFL again.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Not until Jan/Feb which is just one of the reasons that he was never a serious candidate. Most of the SC guys I speak to were not super excited at the prospect of JDR. Sark is a good choice and most SC guys that have swallowed the reality check pill realize it is about as good as they were going to do.

What Flystripper said. Also, local radio folks seemed to dismiss Del Rio without offering an explanation. Well, except for one former Trojan player who was pro-JDR. Anyway, most media types I heard who were having back room talks with USC decision makers generally didn't have him in the mix.
lame. unhappy with this decision. I like sark and wish him well elsewhere, do not think he will be a good head coach at SC.
Haden and everyone else needs to stop hiring Pete retreads, and that includes CEO.
The good news is it sounds like CEO wasn't happy about working for Sark and has stepped down/resigned and will be Audi 5000. So there is one less Pete retread to worry about.
Would Texas even want Saban after the coaching blunder last Saturday?
lol. Are you channeling Topper?

Matt Leinart supports the hire:
@MattLeinartQB: I forgot all of you know and understand football. Oh and played it! Sark is a great coach and will win at USC!
@MattLeinartQB: I think Sark is a great hire. I was with him for 4 of my 5 years at USC. Great recruiter, motivator and teacher! Really happy for him #sc

CEO there is a humble little school in Utah that is in need of an amazing recruiter. I realize that you will have several better options, but if you really want to stick it to Sark this may be your best option.
