Perhaps those odds listing Utah coach Kyle Whittingham as the leading contender for the USC job need to be revised.

Why Whittingham was expected to win this game was always a good question. The oddsmakers never considered making Utah the favorite and the line grew to 6 1/2 points Saturday.

Maybe Whittingham deserved more credit: He got to 6-0 with Travis Wilson at quarterback. The senior was awful against USC, and that’s putting it mildly.
Forget the Utes’ No. 3 ranking, they were the inferior team at the Coliseum. Even the crowd knew when it declined to rush the field at the end of the game.
