Initially... yes. The coach who follows "the coach" almost always fail. Kiffin brings with him so much baggage I don't have much confidence that he can succeed given the sanctions and the generally perceived shady atmosphere of the program. Can his abilities with Xs and Os rise above all the other noise?

I don't know. The sky is falling!!!!! ah!!!!!!

Recruits wont want to play for a school under SanCtions!

Recruits won't want to play for a school that cannot go to a bowl game!

Congratulations USC: Top 5 recruiting class of 2011.

I'm not talking about recruiting. USC will never have a problem recruiting. Coaching (Xs and Os as well as developing those recruits) and creating an atmosphere of where all those 5 star recruits succeed is what I'm skeptical of. I realize recruiting is a big part of success in college football. But there are teams that recruit top 25 classes that underachieve consistently while teams without a top 25 recruiting class succeed. The difference is coaching and player development. I'm sure Kiffin will consistently win but I don't see USC as a national contender while he is at the helm.

          We are doomed!!!

What would you suggest that SC do?

Also, what do the violations at Tennessee have to do with your very generous concern about the development of players at U to the SC?

Any advice would be helpful. Urgent!!!

No worries, all in good fun. Sounds like SC has a handle on it.

Ted Gilmore new Trojan WR coach

Looks like Ted Gilmore landed on his feet at USC after being forced out at Nebraska. Hope things work out. WR has been a problem spot for Nebraska. Not sure if it was talent, coaching, poor QB play, poor OL play that led to poor QB play, etc. Whatever it was, Nebraska's passing game got worse as the season progressed the past two years.

USC has talent at WR that Nebraska could only dream of. Will be interesting to see how things play out with Coach Gilmore and USC.

Edit: Probably important to point out that Nebraska shifted from a West Coast offense to a Spread Option offense two years ago. Ted Gilmore will most likely be fine in USC's West Coast offense.

Im not sure how they will use Brandon Carswell, but he is also going to be a good kid. :usc:

Did LAUte hack your account? This is his recorded defense of the Utes.

But, but...according to the Husker faithful, they will take a 2-star Nebraska kid or some juco transfer over those 4 and 5-star bluechips out of LA metro.

Forever searching for the next Johnny Rodgers or Irving Fryar. It's times like these that I'm in favor of USC "consecrating" a WR to Nebraska - the Trojans have plenty to spare.

i agree with you that LA Ute's methods are weak sauce.

I'm fine with the Cornhuskers taking 2-star local kids. As a matter of fact, please continue to do so.

Meanwhile, CEO has offered 2012 Nebraska LB commit Michael Rose, who is said to be teetering now that the previous LB coach has left Nebraska.

Jordan Cameron getting rave reviews at the combine. Runs a 4.58 40 and really impresses the scouts.
