Well, I screamed at the ref, "Are we done yet?"Originally posted by kccougar View PostNot really. I actually laughed out loud when the ball went off the upright.
In answer to your question to IPU, I would talk to the kid with the sign. But you need to keep in mind he's sitting in the MUSS and there wouldn't be a BYU fan (or an adult over the age of 25 or so) near him. College kids at football games are 20% idiots. In Salt Lake the idiots are of a certain type. I don't have any sympathy for your ALUF friend who quit going to games, by the way. You aren't asking me, but I most definitely would have. And I wouldn't have been kind about it.Originally posted by kccougar View PostQuestion: Had you been sitting next to this guy with the sign, would you say anything to him?
There is no right or wrong answer here. Just curious.
I've related other stories here of confronting bad behavior.

Quite a while ago, I would have. Not that I am that offended, but I like to get into it and I think I could have taken that guy verbally and physically.Originally posted by kccougar View PostQuestion: Had you been sitting next to this guy with the sign, would you say anything to him?

These days I still like to verbal on a board. While I can get beat up emotionally, at least I won't have to back it up physically.

Agreed. Google is going to haunt him with every job application or interview. He is going to pay a price for this for years. And that cost is going to be more severe than he could ever imagine.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostI think we all agree that suspenders boy is getting what he deserves. I now realize that Suspender Boy has given me a powerful debating tool. I can chalk so much to UofUtah fans' hate for BYU--it's an effective attack on credibility, as in, "you're just saying this because of your hate for BYU." In the past that would have sounded childish and petty. Now it has a ring of truth, it resounds. Thanks Suspender Boy!Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Giving some thought, as one who wants to be a good Christian, I should have compassion for this kid and feel sorry for him. Even though thou shalt not judge I will and though I am not a psychologist, I will play one.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostI think we all agree that suspenders boy is getting what he deserves. This kid is an insecure attention starved young man. Not one thing he did leads me to this, but a combination of things.
The suspenders, dude is looking for attention. Hangs out in the Muss which empowers him and he brings a sign expecting to get pats on his back from his comrades. Lastly, twice he rushes the field and feels a rush by being able to confront the BYU coach.
Sadly what he ended up with is some BYU fans upset, but most laughing and mocking him. The attention he gets by confronting Bronco shows him basically being stared down by Bronco and then as Bronco moves toward him he appears to shit his pants.
To compound things he explains his situation to recoup his stature and ends up making a bigger ass of himself.
Like I said, as one who wants to be a good Christian I should have compassion for him. As someone who isn't there yet, I look at him, smile and think, "what a dork".

I want to attend a game with IPU so we can wander around tearing up signs."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I attended a utah byu game with him at RES. The people next to me were being very hostile towards BYU the entire game. EPU said nothing. I don't think he would have torn up any signs that night.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI want to attend a game with IPU so we can wander around tearing up signs.Fitter. Happier. I heard on the morning radio that this kid was getting more and more belligerent in his hatred towards Bronco (I don't know if this was via twitter or Utefans or what). I am a little concerned for him. Obviously the kid, in some sense, is out of touch with reality to be so bold as to hunt down Bronco in that fashion. But at some point he needs to atone for this in some way. If for nothing else for himself. I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of action in the next couple of days on his part to admit his mistake and try to make it right.Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostAgreed.
