I know that most people seem to be joking in this thread, but there's no effing way that BYU will pound Utah. It hasn't done so since the last time that BYU was demonstrably better than Utah (1996).
Though I do think that BYU will win, it will almost certainly be by a touchdown or less. On one hand, BYU has a very balanced offense with a three year starter playing his second to last game. On the other hand that QB has a tendency to turn over the ball a lot in big games. I'm not worried about BYU's defense vs. Utah's offense, the one thing that this game will turn on is whether Hall turns over the ball like crazy. It's really this simple, if Hall limits the turnovers, BYU will win. Hall doesn't lose close games, he does however lose games big.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”Comment

I was listening to 1280 today and heard a Bronco quote that followed 48-24. He said something to the degree of, "we really should have won, and it's my fault that Max Hall looked like an inept Pop Warner quarterback." I chuckled.
I'm still trying to figure out exactly where all of this BYU confidence is coming from, really. What makes you think that this even has the slight possibility of being a blowout? Who is going to get David Reed and Jereme Brooks the ball? This Utah offense really lacks weapons for the first time I can remember. Reed is very good, Brooks is decent, after that you have zero threats at WR. On the flip side BYU has 7 guys with at least 20 receptions (Utah has 2), they have weapons all over the field, Harvey was the lone bright spot against utah last year and they are not as good on defense so I expect another great game out of him.
