I know it is the home and season opener, but it wouldn't hurt to rain down boos on Nash and D12 just to let them know that they are officially on the hook for a ring.

I want to punch Steve Blake in the face. Dude is so hesitant and passive I don't even know why he plays. Not only does he not shoot but he always picks up his dribble all the time. Effing annoying. Please don't let Nash be seriously hurt.

Also, the offense is much better when Steve actually has the ball in his hands.

Glad to see Dwight make some FTs.

At this rate we'll have a new coach by Thanksgiving.

by the end of the week if I were the GM. Hell, how the hell did he get hired? its like alabama choosing to hire auburns coach after he is fired if saban goes to the NFL.

Yeah Kobe was +11. Antawn Jamison -21. I didn't watch but looks like the backups lost this one.

Dwight 15-19 from the FT line -- if he keeps that up he'll have a big year.

Going back to last years playoff series vs. OKC, Mike Brown is now on a 12 game losing streak. That has to be the longest losing streak in LAL history. Adios Butthead.

Mike Brown: we could play differently, but why?

"We could spread the floor and play pick and roll all the time," Brown said. "But when we play good teams, they'll figure out how to stop that one thing that we're good at and take it away."

Kobe is not a happy camper

There won't be many jokes in the Lakers' locker room in the near future.

"It's going to be a little edgy because I'm not a very happy camper walking around here right now," Bryant said. "There's some things we have to shore up. We have to make sure we keep a sense of urgency."

The Lakers, not a happy bunch. The Clippers, eager to see them soon.

                            Everyone Hates Mike

It's probably not a good sign that Lakers Coach Mike Brown is already defending the team's Princeton offense.

On Day 2 of the regular season.

But, indeed, a flurry of past and present NBA players questioned its effectiveness in the Lakers' 99-91 loss Tuesday against Dallas.

TNT analyst Charles Barkley said Brown needed to "nix that Princeton thing." Kenny Smith, also a TNT analyst, followed it up by saying, "Princeton never won an NCAA title."

Magic Johnson weighed in on Twitter, saying he was “a bit confused” by the Lakers’ opener. He implored Lakers fans not to panic but said, “I do know one thing: the ball should be in Steve Nash’s hands much more. How about some pick and roll?”

Even New Jersey power forward Kris Humphries had something to say on Twitter: “It’s strange watching Steve Nash play off the ball so much.”

Brown laughed off the observations by Barkley and Smith.

"I've been criticized by those guys before," he said. "I think they're funny guys. I'm OK with it."

                            Coop sez: 4 peat!

Surveying the NBA landscape, Michael Cooper provided a bold prediction.

"The Lakers are about to win the championship four years in a row," Cooper said in a phone interview....

...Cooper believes the Lakers will "steamroll" into the postseason.

Because of his strong defensive background, Cooper paid close attention to Howard and Metta World Peace. Cooper believes "the Lakers will really be able to get in the passing lanes" with Howard's presence. Cooper also predicted World Peace's improved conditioning will mean "he'll be able to take more chances" on defense. Cooper, a former Lakers reserve, also touted Jamison as the biggest factor in the Lakers' title aspirations.
Cooper believes this whole process will take time. But he still remains optimistic about his bold prediction.

Said Cooper: "I'm a Laker and think they always have a chance to win a championship."
