Magic just spoke the truth at halftime. Time to blow it up. He said this team is not athletic and they're old. The league has changed. Everyone can run faster and jump higher. The only thing I don't like is that he and Barry both said Kobe is untouchable. But LO, Pau, Drew, anyone else, have your bags packed because you might be gone. Loved though that they said the Lakers do it right. They stay relevant because they make the deals. And they'll be back.

Kobe is effectively untouchable because his contract is an albatross and he is the only player in the NBA with a no trade clause, if I'm not mistaken. The teams that are willing to take his contract are basement teams that wan tot use him to fill arenas but do not have a roster to make a serious run.

From the lakers standpoint, though, i think the goal should be to keep Kobe but get him to adapt. He eventually learned the hard way (thanks PHX and Steve Nash!) and the result was 3 straight trips to the finals, two rings, and a lot of team camaraderie. This most recent elimination will force his hand again. And the lakers are in a much better spot to speak more frankly with him, as he no longer has any more leverage.

I agree with this and is kind of what I was saying earlier. Save Kobe when you may need a heroic shot or iso. Otherwise get him to facilitate. He could average 10 assists a game.
