    Where's Wallace?

Man, I hope Kobe just had back spasms and nothing else. No bueno if he's out for any extended period of time.

I liked the hustle of the second unit when he went out to get back in it. The Lakers never really threatened but it was much closer than the final score indicated. I like our chances with a healthy Pau and Kobe. I liked how they attacked the hoop repeatedly and worked Artest and Bynum in the post. I do wish the Lakers would be more physical. I hate when other teams start muscling them around and the refs let it go. Because the Lakers just don't know how to be physical back. All night they were letting the guys hand check and the Lakers just don't respond in kind and just seem to wait to be bailed out.

Nice to see Walton back. I was surprised at how well he played given how much time he's missed. The second unit misses the stability he brings. People have been ragging on the Lakers' bench but they've been forced to start LO quite a bit with Pau and Ron Ron missing games. Once he goes back to the bench, with a healthy Walton our second team is much improved.

Anyway, bummer of a game, but I saw some good things and my disdain for Manu Ginobli was reaffirmed. Congrats Junkie.

          Happy 3,000th win, Lakers.

First franchise in the NBA to get to 3,000 wins (although not all in one season).

Now back to sleep until the playoffs.

Lakers looked decent in a good bounce back game to the second best team in the West on the road. I'll take it. Bynum, Odom, and Artest were strong. I wanted to reach through the TV and strangle Farmar and Brown though in the last 2 minutes for those horrific possessions that nearly cost the Lakers the game.

Bad decisions down the stretch made the game much closer than it needed to be. thank goodness dampier cant shoot free throws to save his life.

Dirk is a great player. I love watching him play.

Walton is coming along slowly. He won't be a huge difference maker but as he gets his legs back, it will be nice to have someone off the bench that can usually make a good pass.

I only saw the end of this game but I was just happy to see Kobe out there. Back spasms are dangerous.

Kobe played 11 minutes in the first quarter and then didn't come back until the 3rd. He looked horrible in the first half, like an old man running up and down the court. The Mavs were stupid by not exploiting him. Marion should have put the ball on the floor against him every time he touched the ball. He must have got a good massage at the half though because he looked better after the half. They should rest him Friday. Especially with Pau supposedly coming back.

The Lakers need a young infusion....an up and coming dynamic leader that can dominate, has star power, and will help lead the team to championships. Is there anybody out there that fits this description?....

Last night was a good night for the Lakers with both Boston and Cleveland losing. That Jazz game was fun to watch down the stretch. How can LeBron be the best player in the world when they're afraid to inbound the ball to him with the game on the line at the stripe? They make him throw all the inbounds passes.

I have noticed a distinct dropoff in Lebron mania, at least on the part of the media. I think last year was the last straw. They can't keep promoting him as the greatest or The King until he wins a ring. Esp with the Lakers poised to establish another mini-dynasty here and Kobe now chasing Jordan's 6 titles.

Once Lebron does win a ring, he will then rightfully inherit the media throne, but as of now, it is clearly Kobe's world.

Truthfully, this is better for Lebron anyway. He is still really young and has plenty of time to be the king of the hill. He has less "pressure" if he isn't being anointed the Greatest Player on the Planet. The Cavs are not picked to win the title this year, so when they lose to the Magic or the Celtics, it won't be a huge upset. If the Lakers don't win the title this year, it will be an upset of sorts, at least from an oddsmakers point of view.

Why the Lakers didn't demolish the Clippers last time is mind boggling.

Nice to see Pau back. Shook some rust off but still had a nice ball game. Even nicer was seeing Bynum play well alongside Pau. Phil seemed to struggle a bit getting LO back into the rotation. Odom seemed a bit frustrated. Hopefully he doesn't go space cadet now.
