Also, their problems in the Finals weren't on offense, they were on defense. They had games in there where team fg% was around 50% and they were getting smoked by 20. So add McRoberts and gimpy Granger. That makes sense. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

And Wade is going to continue to get worse there. I wouldn't be surprised if Napier is worse than Chalmers or Cole on defense. And if they bring Birdman back he isn't improving on that end with age.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostAlso, their problems in the Finals weren't on offense, they were on defense. Hell, Chalmers and Cole are probably better at everything than Napier, at least for he next year or two.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostAnd Wade is going to continue to get worse there. Bosh is dumb to pass that up. He can go to Houston and play the third fiddle again with a legit center inside. Plus it's close to home.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI'm worried about friendship.

I think I prefer an environment where players chase the money rather than one where the talent accumulates on a select group of teams.Originally posted by Surfah View PostBosh is dumb to pass that up. Houston is the best of both worlds. Harden and Howard and he gets a max deal. I really can't see him back with Miami.Originally posted by wapiti View PostI think I prefer an environment where players chase the money rather than one where the talent accumulates on a select group of teams."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

If I was James, I'd give Bosh $1,000,000 just to be the first to break up the band. It would take all the "heat" off him, and he could around shop with a clear conscience.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostI'm worried about friendship.

Miami needs Bosh to walk or take a vastly reduced salary.
Wade will get the legacy contract. Something around $10 per that pays him in to his late 30s. Less money per year but spread over a longer period of time. He will eventually become an exec. with the Heat in some capacity.
If Wade takes $10
Lebron $20.
They just gave McRoberts $5
Granger $2
That means they have $41 million under contract for next year when you add in Norris Cole and Napier.
Cap is projected to be at $63 million with the Luxury Tax threshold to be $77.
If Chicago amnesties Boozer as expected, does he head to Miami for $1-2 per year?
Do they make a run at Bledsoe? Monroe? Deng? Pau? What about Parsons or Stephenson?
If Stephenson takes $12, Boozer $2, throw $5 or 6 at Pau on a one year deal to make a run at a title. Then round out a roster of scrubs.
Does a team of LBJ, Wade, McRoberts, Napier, Cole, Stephenson, Boozer, Granger, Nando De Colo (random free agent #1), Aaron Gray (random FA #2), and Nazr Mohammed (Random FA #3) give you enough to beat the Spurs?*Banned*

A world where the players chase the money is a world where players either stay with their original team for their career, or force such team to enter into a sign and trade. Despite the worry about super-teams, it has only happened once. Unless we count Karl Malone going to the Lakers. I would prefer an environment with more competitive balance, but I'm not worried about super teams.Originally posted by wapiti View PostI think I prefer an environment where players chase the money rather than one where the talent accumulates on a select group of teams.

I'm also not really worried about super teams either. The Heat super team ended up with 2 titles in 4 years and now looks like it is about to blow up. It is a minor concern.Originally posted by Jacob View PostA world where the players chase the money is a world where players either stay with their original team for their career, or force such team to enter into a sign and trade. I'm not concerned but 4 trips to the finals and 2 titles in only 4 seasons is more cumulative success than most franchises have ever experienced in their entire history. What they accomplished isn't minor and so the concern could be construed as legitimate,
also, it didn't happen once. Boston picked up KG and Allen and went to two finals and won it once, including in their very first season together with pierce, something the heat didn't do.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.
