Those last couple seasons are just ridiculous -- you usually only see those kinds of %'s from big guys that do nothing but dunk.
And that's why a guy like Lionel Hollins isn't coaching right now. Because he wanted to ignore analytics and just coach off of feel. It seems absurd that with all of this data available that an NBA head coach would thumb his nose at it instead of incorporating it the best he could.

I thought the Beasley signing was weird. I thought they should've gotten Shawne Williams instead, thinking he'd become an elite 3pt shooter on the Heat. But watching Beasley the last few Heat games reminded me of how physically gifted he is. I wonder what Spo will do with Haslem's minutes when he comes back, because Beasley is light years ahead of Haslem on offense.

It is amazing to see the difference of how one approaches the game and the work they put in compared to a counterpart. B-Easy and KD are prime examples. Both were highly recruited out of DC as 6'10" shooting guards out of HS, both had impressive one and done college careers, and both were drafted #2 in their respective class.

Also, one was actually 6'-10" and one was actually 6'-6".

Yeah, I was exaggerating for emphasis. I actually think KD measured out at 6-9. Still, an extra 2 inches can make all the difference in the world.

                • Ranking the best new coaches.

                  1. Jeff Hornacek, Phoenix Suns
                  Plus-6.1 (Expected wins: 3.4 through 18 games / Pythagorean wins: 9.5 through 18 games)
The early reviews on Hornacek have been universally positive. ATH projected the Suns as the worst team in the league. After winning in Houston on Wednesday, the Suns stand at 10-9. Phoenix has leaped from 29th to ninth in offensive efficiency, and improved four spots in the defensive rankings. Hornacek has ridden excellent shot selection to the NBA's sixth-best effective field goal percentage. With the Suns angling for the top spot in the 2014 draft, Hornacek is doing almost too good of a job.

Nice find, thanks for sharing. In a similar vein, what's the deal with Aaron Afflalo? Dude is playing out of his mind this season after 5 years of looking pretty pedestrian.

I said before he was drafted, the Heat would be the ideal place for him. Granted, it would be the ideal place for just about any NBA player, but I'm not a fan of just about any NBA player!

That move would probably increase fan excitement and put people in the seats.
