Finally won a playoff series. Had to go out on top.

      • I feel that guys like Iverson and McGrady legitimize the theory that volume scoring doesn't win championships. T-Mac was a career 43% shooter, and Iverson was at 42.5% when all was said and done. If your star player isn't hitting at least 48% from the field, it's rough to be an elite offensive team.

Kobe is a career 45% shooter.

Shaq was the star of the first three teams Kobe won a championship with.

And without Gasol, he doesn't win his last two.

Hard to say Kobe was the most important piece of any Laker team that won a championship.

No it's not. Kobe was the most important piece of ANY Laker championship. I'm still here.

I don't think it's hard to say he was most important piece on the Gasol teams. He definitely deserves his two championships.

Michael Beasley released by the Suns. I think it's safe to call him a major disappointment after being picked number 2 in the 2008 draft.

I predict his disappointment will continue to grow, making this setback a mere side note with the news of his untimely death within 5 years.

                      • The motion-tracking cameras that were talked about last year as potentially game-changing in the way hoop is analyzed will be in every arena this year.

I wonder if the data will be available to fans as well. A guy could get lost in the data for months.

                          • Michael Beasley averaged 26 ppg and 12 rpg in college. Two years ago he nearly averaged 20 ppg in the NBA.

Today he signed a one year, non-guaranteed minimum salary deal with the Miami Heat.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Beasley + Miami Beach = not a good idea.

                              • Looks like the NBA will finally ditch the ridiculous 2-3-2 format for the finals.
