That was an incredible game to be at, especially when we came back. Stupid lucky Durant shot. I had tix at about mid court, 10th row, so we saw it all up close. A few thoughts:Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostRockets on a big run to end the 3rd - things getting interesting in Houston.
I've seen a number of games in person this year. Playoffs are way different.
Harden is amazing.
Durant is a freak of nature. Skinny as all get out but it doesn't matter.
The thunder's bigs are huge. Not skinny.
Melissa Stark is a beanpole. Think Mirage from The Incredibles.
NBA games are super physical as it is, but the playoffs are a different beast altogether.
Joey Crawford is the worst ref in the history of history, and he was lucky to go home in one piece last night. The fans wanted his blood.Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

Good thoughts. Thanks for sharing. I always amazed at the skill level, size, and athleticism of todays NBA players, but the playoffs really do bring out the best in them. I also don't think anybody can appreciate the physicality of the game unless it's seen it up close as you had the opportunity to do.Originally posted by Pheidippides View PostThat was an incredible game to be at, especially when we came back. One other thing - I continue to be impressed with the resilience of these guys. Houston was out of it yesterday and had opportunities to win a close one. Boston had controlled this game today and here the Knicks are within two in the 4th as I type this post.I'm like LeBron James.

9/22 from the field, 10/15 from the FT line, and 2/8 3pt. Consider me underwhelmed. But then, I've never felt he's good enough to be the best player on a championship team. Not a very popular opinion in NBA circles, but I stand by it.Originally posted by Pheidippides View Post
Harden is amazing.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

That's not what I meant. What I meant is watching his ridiculous control and athleticism going to the hole. I don't think he's a guy you can build a championship team around, but if you can add one more elite player....Originally posted by Donuthole View Post9/22 from the field, 10/15 from the FT line, and 2/8 3pt. Like Westbrook and Durant? That still wasn't enough.Originally posted by Pheidippides View PostThat's not what I meant. It hasn't been enough - yet. Harden is (IMO) a Westbrook type second fiddle, not a Durant type superman (this despite his PPG average this year and the fact that he receives an MVP chant every time he shoots free throws at home).Originally posted by Surfah View PostLike Westbrook and Durant? Durant was the real deal yesterday. At halftime I think most of Houston was asking "Russell who?"Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.
