Watched the last two innings in the kitchen. Just nasty stuff striking out 5 of the last 6. Still running high mid-90s in the 9th and throwing knee-buckling 12-6's. Worked that high velocity slider hard including a 2-0 2-out pitch on the black. Just filthy.

Second perfect game and third no-hitter overall at Safeco this year. Wild.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Is this his first start since he dominated the Yankees with that one hit (or was it two) gem recently?

No. He had his worst outing in a while his last start.

Weather looks fantastic there today. Seattle and Vancouver are two of my favorite cities on a clear day. You just don't get enough of them for my liking.

I wouldn't say fantastic. It's a little too warm for fantastic.

It seems like there is usually a big defensive play in the last couple of innings of a perfect game or a no hitter. Not sure if there was one earlier, but when the only ball in play over the final two innings is a weak grounder to short you know you've seen something special. It looks like Hellickson had a great outing for the Rays, pretty impressive of Felix to throw that gem against a decent offense and under pressure in such a tight game. Hard to believe he's still only 26.

                        Yes, according to ESPN.

Nope. According to Wikipedia, 2010 is the only other year when more than one perfect game was pitched (2). They were both in different fields.

Neat story about a kid who was there to see perfection in his first two trips to a baseball game. http://www.mlb.com/cutfour/index.jsp...entId=36866272

                                Were you there again?

As my older boys and I were driving around the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie Forest on We heard on the radio about the perfect game, I said too bad we went last night instead of today. I then explained what a perfect game was, Captain said "wait, nobody got on base at all?" I assured him nobody did, "that sounds really boring, I'm glad we didn't go today". My boys aren't baseball purists.
