I think last year they won a ridiculiously low amount of their games that were one run. Like less than five. Winning by one makes for exciting games but it really freaks me out. I like to see a good runs scored v. runs allowed ratio. All of these one run wins really make that margin wayyyy too close.
MarkGrace and I enjoyed a great night at the ball park last night. The Mariners did not play very well, Joe Saunders was dealing, 3 HRs by Anaheim, Ichiro got caught in a pickle twice, the showed highlights of the Laker/Nuggets game that had a George Michael Sports Machine feel to them, the weather was great, this game had everything.
Hopefully next time some of our other Seattle area CUFers will be able to join us.
I have to post in here because my M's are back above .500 for the first time in a while. This may be a bit of a jinx, but I don't care. Their pitching has been off the charts. That Griffey HR for the come from behind win the other night was classic.
The real test is going to be the upcoming roadtrip. I think if they can take a couple from the Padres here on this home series and then go .500 on the road, I would be more than happy. If only they had another bat or two in the lineup. :Sigh:
The M's won another 1 run game last night. That's 19 so far this season. I really wish they would agressively go after some guys with some OBP. That is, of course, if they make it through this upcoming road trip still intact.
