Pittsburgh picking David DeCastro, unbelievable. I couldn't believe how he was dropping and then I saw the Lions and Steelers picking back to back and knew he wouldn't last. There was no way the Steelers and Lions were trading back with Reiff and DeCastro on the board, but, damn the Niners weren't far off and there was no way to trade up.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I'm satisfied with the TT's first pick (got the pass rusher/ROLB they need, I hope) - we'll see how tonight goes - need a safety now (darn it)

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

At least Vince Young was a good college QB. Tannehill was about as good as Beck as a soph.

Utah St's Bobby Wagner goes #47 to Seattle.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I'm not sure I understand that comment. Beck was much better his senior season than Tannehill was this past year.

Or perhaps my comment wasn't clear. This past season Tannehill was about as good as John Beck was when Beck was a sophomore.

I misread, I thought it said the pick was about as good as getting Beck as a soph. So I was saying or as good as getting Beck as a Senior!

LaMike is plummeting. I had read New England had some interest, if they don't take him at the end of the 2nd, it is going to be a long weekend. It is really going to suck when Chip leaves either after this year or the next. Oregon has been a top 5 team for the last 3 seasons with basically no NFL talent, that is great coaching.

Broncos showing zero respect to Manning in this draft, so much for win now.

Reach on a DT, and then draft a QB in the 2nd round??

So much for shoring up holes on the team... 49ers were loading up to win now, while the Broncos are playing like they are rebuilding.

He'll regret not going to San Francisco. Meanwhile Alex Smith still hasn't stopped doing cartwheels since March.

Yep chose money over winning, Broncos front office/coaching staff/roster can't hold a candle to the niners atm.

Niners pick "The Michael" James. Not a fan of the pick. Were there enough RBs left for the Niners to get Turbin in the 3rd round? Donte Whitner was a huge problem in pass coverage in the secondary, and they needed to look at safety. But, the Niners did need another RB, so there they go.

Rueben out of LSU is still available.

The 49ers would be absolutely nasty with all these offensive weapons they are compiling to go with their best in the league D if they had got Peyton. Meanwhile the Broncos are drafting for year 2015 when Peyton is retired after carrying a lackluster team to end his career. Attaboy Elway, way to respect a legendary QB.

On top of that they picked a QB that will never be good. Osweiler never struck me as a starting QB in the NFL. I would take a chance on Cousins out of Michigan State before Osweiler.

Trade up to make a massive reach for Ronnie Hillman with the 67th pick. Not a great receiver or blocker...what a great fit for Manning's offense. Was projected as a late 4th or 5th rounder.

Ronnie Hillman never looked like a legit NFL RB in the games I watched, good college RB is all.

What the heck is Elway doing...

                              Moreno part two.

As people have been mentioning, Peyton basically wanted the same contract that he had an Indy. It's a lot of money and it's hard to totally blame the guy, but he would have won a Super Bowl in San Francisco. People have been saying that Kyle Williams will have to fight for a roster spot now with Moss and Manningham being added and Jenkins being drafted. I think Crabtree should be that guy quite honestly. Kyle Williams fills that Wes Welker slot role pretty nicely, Crabtree does not. Jenkins is the speedy guy that stretches the field (Marvin Harrison), Manningham is the #2, Moss does whatever he can at this point (I'm skeptical) and Kyle Williams is the slot. Just don't let Williams field punts.
