Maybe the BYU fans can enlighten me, but Jimmer's career kinda reminds me of Alex Smith's in that he was so dominant that he lacked those dramatic moments that won games. I'm talking KVH with back-to-back game-winning buzzer beaters in the 1997 WAC tournament here, not hitting a half-court shot against a lousy Utah team. Both are memorable, but the difference should be apparent to everyone. Or Ainge going coast-to-coast to beat Notre Dame. Stuff like that.

Again, unless I'm missing something, a moment or two like that (and like Walker had tonight) is the next step in Fredette's quest to be the greatest BYU player ever. There are great players and there are stone-cold assassins. Fredette's been one of the former for some time, but I'm not sure if he's there yet on the latter.

That was the one game I remembered that could have qualified. But he was so good in that game that individual moments kinda took a back seat, ie, he was clutch all game long, so what was so dramatic about the shots he took?

I'm not trying to bag on the guy by any means, but if I'm going to talk about Fredette to a casual hoops fan, he needs to create a moment that's totally his own. He's got a bevy of great games, but he needs more moments. It's a fine line at times, but start thinking Bryce Drew, Danny Ainge and you'll get what I'm saying.

"Wright" was so close to being the dog of that game. I was happy for him that he made that last shot.

Jimmer needs to quite dropping 30s on opponents, let the game stay a little closer for dramatic effect.
