I hate myself for reading cougarboard evaluation of Jimmer. It is stunning how a guy who may not have ever played any competitive basketball is able to critique Jimmer's offensive game. I don't think Jimmer is going to succeed in the NBA, but talking about his release or how he shoots lay-ups borders on the absurd coming from a bunch of Internet heroes.

I'm glad Jimmer is getting minutes. He is fun to watch.

He has always been a volume shooter. He shot 42%, which is just barely lower than his college averages. He was 46% from the field and 40% from 3pt during his college career.

Jimmer shot 8/12 from field, 3/5 from 3pt with 7 rbs and 5 assists in 26 minutes.

Buddy Hield reminding people of The Jimmer.

It’s tough to put together a blog on college hoops after what we saw last night. That game won’t be topped as Kmarko talked about earlier with it being more than an instant classic.


One thing I do want to talk about with that game though is the play of Buddy Hield – my favorite to win National Player of the Year for a couple weeks running now. That was the first individual performance I’ve seen that had everyone buzzing since the days of Jimmer Fredette at BYU.


Most people were yelling to get him the ball every possession, you were probably shocked when he missed a shot and he turned into must see TV. People aren’t going to talk about Oklahoma losing that game, except for the terrible officiating with the sideline out of bounds. So, congrats to Hield for being the first player since a Mormon named Jimmer to pull that off.
