Great comparison for Kobe, btw. Had Dominique played with Shaq in his prime and now Pau, Lamar, Bynum...Phil - he'd have about 4-5 championship rings too.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostUnreal. It felt like watching Dominique go crazy all over again.I'm like LeBron James.

Maybe, but all the pressure is on LA methinks.. Should be a good one. Kobe will be ready to put up 50 if he has too.. I think the refs will allow for him to go off and he needs too. Such is the nature of NBA. Kobe will get the calls at home..Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostIf LA wins game 6, this series is over. Boston's shot is tomorrow night.

Pierce - 19 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 3.4 apg, 46.4 FG%, 31 FTAs, 83.9 FT%
Rondo - 14.2 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 7.4 apg, 47.5 FG%, 15 FTAs, 26.7 FT%
Garnett - 15.6 ppg, 6 rpg, 3.2 apg, 50.9 FG%, 18 FTAs, 88.9 FT%
I'm still surprised at the gushing over Rondo that some fans and analysts are going through these Finals. No doubt he's come up with some big plays for his team. But he's also essentially not being guarded on offense and for most of the series has only been responsible for guarding Fisher as his primary individual defensive assignment. 27% from the free throw line, and only 15 attempts for a guy that drives as much as him?
Pierce I think is the most likely to be able to come up with a big game and take the Finals MVP if Boston wins the title. But as I would have in '08, based on the series to this point I'd give it to Garnett. I don't know the usage numbers for the series, but it seems to be that Garnett has been their most efficient offensive player on limited touches, and I still view him as the backbone of that defense. He's had the toughest defensive assignment by far of those three.

I'll take the guy that makes plays in the 4th quarter after the guy with great stats. That guy in the NBA Finals, and really through the playoffs, for the Celtics is Rondo. He is finding ways to get the Celtics the W. That is the most important stat there is.
Who cares that he has only had to guard Fisher, isn't that who Williams had to guard and the Jazz got swept.Get confident, stupid

I'll take the guy who matters the most over the guy with the best stats, and worry less about if the plays just come in the 4th quarter. That is why I'd pick KG as the MVP over Pierce and Rondo who have had more production, and why I would have picked him as Finals MVP in '08.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostI'll take the guy that makes plays in the 4th quarter after the guy with great stats. I wonder if Phil's "this team knows how to lose in the 4th quarter better than anyone" line will have any noticeable effect on the Celtics tonight. I think the Celtics players' elbows are going to be flying on the rebounds. I'm wondering if Phil ever thought that was going to be played over the air.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I doubt it will have any effect. Are you saying you think Celtics would try to injure Lakers with their elbows because of something Phil Jackson said to try to keep his team playing hard in the 4th quarter?Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostI wonder if Phil's "this team knows how to lose in the 4th quarter better than anyone" line will have any noticeable effect on the Celtics tonight. I think the Celtics have enough motivation to win the NBA championship without pretending to be offended by something Phil said.

I'm sure all these guys are already self-motivated. But Phil was essentially calling them a bunch of chokers (or they may take it that he's calling them a bunch of pansies).Originally posted by Jacob View PostI doubt it will have any effect. I think the Celtics definitely think about Phil's comment when the quarter starts. Whether it is discussed in their own huddle or not, I don't know. But it is a safe bet that KG is going to be mumbling about it for most of that quarter with some fancy decorative phrases that would make Sloan blush.

Wow what a half. Pass me a cigarette!"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

The Celtics didn't wait until the 4th quarter to prove Phil right. Unless something huge happens in the second half, this game is a wrap. LA taking the momentum to game 7.Originally posted by Eddie Jones View PostWow what a half. Pass me a cigarette!
I am watching the game, in HD on a 42" LCD, from our safety office. Some of the foreman that work for me asked what the hell I have been doing in there and I told them that I am working on a safety test that I need to have as a supervisor and watching the lightning meter. I love technology.I'm your huckleberry.
