What I saw said he'll join the team in L.A. but be put in the lineup for the first game against Arizona.

I'm in a fantasy league where we can carry over our entire team (25 players) from year-to-year. We just pick up players on the waiver wire as they become available. If you're not vigilant, you might miss one. I picked up Bryce Harper last year as a free agent (he made it through our waiver wire). I've been waiting to be able to plug him in. Except that he's only qualified at RF on Yahoo, and I already have Jay Bruce and Corey Hart.

I also have Mike Trout waiting in the wings, and Jesus Montero just qualified at catcher for this year.
If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

Probably not. I wish though. Great game tonight. Detweiller vs Kershaw. The Nats have a nice rotation and they all throw hard.

Edit: sounds like he'll play this weekend.

Harper gets his first RBI in the big leagues, top of the ninth, go ahead run. Not bad.

Nice debut for the kid. He had some nice at bats and was patient at the plate. He absolutely crushed a line drive over Kemp's head for a double. Then he showed off his arm by rifling a bullet home from left field that was on the money but Ramos muffed the catch.

It's fun that his debut happened on the same day as a Strasburg start, one in which he dominated once again but couldn't get the win. Effin' dodgers.

Right now I am not sure there is a better rotation in baseball. Strasburg was filthy. It's almost unfair that someone with his fastball has a nasty curve to go with it. Once Zimmerman and Morse come back it should help, but right now they have no bats. It's a shame they couldn't get Fielder. I really like the Nats.

A bit, but not much. All anyone around here can talk about his RGIII. It's actually pretty tiresome. It's to the point now where as much as I like the kid there is a small part of me that hopes he busts just because of all the obnoxious Skins' fans around me.

But the Nats have done a great job forming this team. Rizzo deserves a ton of credit. Of course they have benefited greatly from the back to back picks but they have done well with picking up guys in FA and through trades. I wasn't crazy about the Davey Johnson signing last year, but I actually like him quite a bit now. If they had some offense they could be scary.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

                            • Washington, like New York in 1984, is a sleeping giant of a baseball town, with strong demographics and a rich history that needs a good dusting. In Strasburg and Harper, the town hit the baseball lottery twice in a row. Strasburg should have wound up in Seattle, but the Mariners blew the No. 1 pick of the 2009 draft by making the mistake of winning their last three games, allowing Washington to pass them for the worst record in baseball. Yuniesky Betancourt will live in Seattle infamy for going all Ted Williams in that final series, smacking seven hits in 12 at-bats. If not for a fluky hot streak by Betancourt, the Mariners might have Strasburg and Felix Hernandez in the same rotation
I wasn't aware of how that played out in '09.

I'd be jealous too if my team's savior was Carson Palmer.
