That trip to Detroit was brutal...this team is done for 2013.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostFinally got to see Harper play in the flesh. 1-4 night with a leadoff triple to start the game. Strasburg started and wasn't very good."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I should add...Harper was playing with a heavy heart. He had befriended a 13 year old boy with cancer who, through make a wish (I think) wanted to meet Bryce. He came out the ball park for a game and Bryce skipped all the pre-game routines to just hang out with the kid. His was the name that was on Bryce's sign for the MLB stand up to Cancer thing during the all star break. In any event, he passed away on Tuesday after his battle with cancer.
Bryce is a lot of things...and I know he rubs some non-lds or non-nat fans the wrong way...but he's an absolute stud because of things like this."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Oh, I agree with you...but I do know some people he rubs the wrong way...but I call them communists.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostBryce Harper does not rub anybody the wrong way. People who dislike Bryce dislike talent, heart, apple pie and the American way, to name a few things.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostOh, I agree with you...but I do know some people he rubs the wrong way...but I call them communists."Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."
Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

As a Braves fan, I thought he displayed great restraint. I didn't like Teheran hitting him. Both Fredi and Teheran said it wasn't intentional after the game. That Harper hit his bomb on a pitch out over the plate so they wanted to come in on him. Looked pretty darn intentional to me and Harper had a clear path to the mound before West took over and kept order. I was actually pleased with his maturity.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostOur resident choir boy had some choice words for Julio Teheran tonight after getting drilled on the first pitch after he'd homered in his previous at bat.A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. - Mohammad Ali

That pitch was definitely intentional. I wish Bryce would have kicked his ass.Originally posted by CJF View PostAs a Braves fan, I thought he displayed great restraint. Not worth the injury risk or the suspension. I did think the Nats should have plunked McCann the next inning though.Originally posted by Surfah View PostThat pitch was definitely intentional.
