I was just looking through Favors game log and you know what's awesome? He hasn't even scored as many points in a single game this year as Hayward.

But he got 14 rebounds in a game this month. Same as Paul Millsap. Jefferson doesn't have one this month.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI was just looking through Favors game log and you know what's awesome? He hasn't even scored as many points in a single game this year as Hayward.

Wow. I have no emotional connection to this team. Nothing is the same about it except the name Utah Jazz. It has quickly become a stranger to me, starting with the death of LHM."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

I love this team. I don't care who they put out there, I will cheer for them to succeed and I will find players who I love and players who I loathe. I can honestly say that the most enjoyable season since I returned from my mission in 2000--from a viewing standpoint, anyway--was the 2003-04 season. Karl and John were gone. Expectations were rock-bottom (9 wins? lol) and we had what seemed like a whole new cast of characters to cheer for.Originally posted by Commando View PostWow. Outside of some 96-98 Jazz playoff games, the single best Jazz game I've been to was a late season game in 2004 against Melo and the Nugents in Utah. Arroyo hit a game winner as time expired and the place was electric in anticipation of making the playoffs. Alas, the West was deep that year, and they fell a game short. Still, it's seasons like those (and seasons like the terrible season that followed) that help me appreciate the deep runs into the playoffs.
Maybe with LHM and Sloan gone, the Jazz will become another Minnesota or Milwaukee. I don't think so, but it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility. Even so, I'll still cheer for the Jazz, and I won't apologize or be ashamed.Last edited by Donuthole; 02-24-2011, 02:36 PM.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

I feel the exact same way as you...I love a Jazz team that wins a lot, but I really love a Jazz team that just plays hard every night and fights and claws and gets wins like that 'will they even win 9 games' team. This year was maddening and great at the start. New guys, crazy wins, etc...but the past month has not been fun as the team seemed lost and worse, uninspired. I am really curious to see what this team will be like now to see if they start playing hard and fun again. Who knows? But I will be a Jazz fan for life.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI love this team. This is true fandom, IMO. I'm not a fan of the players but of the team. What kind of fan is a fan of just certain players? A front-runner. A bandwagon fan. I've loved the Jazz though at times I loathed Sloan and most of his favorites. I still love them.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI love this team. I thought you were one of the many Jazz fans all over LeBronminique's tip. Maybe I have you confused with others.Originally posted by Jacob View PostThis is true fandom, IMO. Generally, when one's team never wins, you latch on to other superstar players and then claim you "just love basketball in general."Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I guess I am somewhere inbetween. I tend to be a fan of players a little more than I am a fan of a particular team. That said, I am a Jazz fan, so I will continue to find players on the team to be a fan of and I'm sure I will hate some as well. Deron was a favorite of mine, as was Brew and while I still like Brew and will continue to be a fan of Deron, I will root stronger for my favorite Jazz players than I will either of those guys.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI love this team. As for now, I will be hitching my wagon to Hayward, Evans, Favors, Jefferson and as always, AK. I'm not a fan of Roger, Watson or Miles.I'm like LeBron James.

Fully agree with this post. Except, I wasn't at the Arroyo game winner over Denver.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI love this team.
