  • Deron's game tonight is a middle finger to this franchise. That foul on Garnett so he could sit and pout sums it up perfectly as did his folding of his arms for the camera during the 3rd to 4th break. Can't say I can argue with DDD or CJ right now about Deron.

Incidentally, my wife is extremely pleased that my season tickets officially sold today. Fuck this squad.

    • Is there any way KOC can trick a team into trading for Raja Bell forcing Jerry to play somebody else?

Deron played hard. He came out and tried to push the tempo to start the 3rd. Nothing was working. The rest of the team sucked too--especially Jefferson--so big deal.

I'll just play Jacob's CUF roll here and just diasagree with you except I'll use stats to support my argument. 1 of 4 is not pushing the tmpo, especially if your teammates aren't helping by making shots of their own.

What's his shooting percentage got to do with pushing the tempo. I didn't say he played well. I said none of the other guys were playing well either. So Deron has a bad night. It happens. I don't see why he deserves an inordinate amount of blame for this game or the last 2 atrocities. He palys hard and puts up the stats to prove it.

              • The Jazz are usually good for one 8-10 game stretch where they look like world beaters. It just sucks that this year it happened to be in the pre-season.

                  haha.

They just haven't look that good all year. Surfah disagreed with me earlier by stating "but they are a 3-5 seed." Which he's right, they were, so it's hard to say "no they're not!" But what I was trying to indicate in the post he responded to, is that almost all their predicative indicators at the time suggested they weren't that level of team, despite the record.

I was having lunch with HFN yesterday and saying that the comeback wins are great, but there's a certain element of luck to them that you can't always expect to play out. Before yesterday, we were 12 games above .500, with 12 victories being come from behind wins down 10 or more. If you go 6-6 in those games, which is much more likely to occur, you are now .500 on the season.

Those wins buoyed the record for a while, but things like offensive efficiency, defensive efficiency, MOV, etc., suggested this was more a barely in the playoffs of even out or the playoffs caliber performance the Jazz have put on. So what do we get? 12-11 in their last 23 with just 2 wins coming against opponents with winning records. Sure they're 11 games over .500 still, but subtract a lot of luck that is not always going to be there and this team is barely breaking even.

                  • btw, Fess-Al-Hayward-CJ-Deron.

I say why not at this point.

Something has to change. Fess at least gives some semblance of defense in the middle. CJ gives them a guy who can score and I like getting GHay minutes and time to develop. I also wish the jazz had brough back Brewer instead of Bell. he ran the floor hard and got a lot of easy buckets. His lack of range hurts but I think bell is just done. Too old.

I also like Sap AK and Memo off of the bench. With Earl and Raja they should be able to mesh well together. Fess sees the fewest minutes of the starters but hopefully it helps slow other teams down to start the game/half.

                      • The jazz better change something. Give up AK for something, someone. Maybe CJ as well, through in some picks, could we get someone good? A good SG maybe?

I've always been under the impression that finding a decent wing was the easiest spot on the court to fill. But the Jazz have struggled forever to find a quality wing player in his prime.

I was against the decision to bring back Wes at the price they offered... but hindsight that move is really killing me.

Because you can't guarantee it will make things any better, and you know you shouldn't make a change unless you are absolutely certain the change will be better.

I'm really in a pissy, get-you-kicked-off-JHN mood with this team and Sloan right now. No matter how bad everyone else is, all I see is Sloan and Bell and the same old story.

There's got to be an attitude change somewhere. Why not remove the headband ban and let these guys pretend like basketball is fun?

Hayward should most definitely start. Even if he's not the best option he's the only one giving maximum effort. And as long as we're dreaming an impossible dream I'd rather see Memo in Al's starting role. These guys will never learn if Sloan isn't willing to sit some of these guys.

Breaking News: GHay to start for AK tonight. Let's hope that's the spark this team needs. Gotta beat Philly...
