I still am not sure how Miles fouled Kobe after Miles badly flopped and was on the ground. I get not rewarding the guy for flopping, but the punishment is that his guy gets a wide open jumper, not that he gets a wide open jumper and a FT. Lakers never trailed after that right?

I agree, that was ridiculous. Perhaps the foul was repayment for missing the contact from the attempted flop. Still, not a great sequence.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Why do I get the urge to punch Farmar in the face whenever his mug is on the TV? My guess is Laker fans want to punch him in the face too, but still....

If Fes had an offensive game, that would be cool.

I'm also having a hard time surpressing that urge. Its the same with Fisher.

The dude is just never ready to receive the ball. He could have 6-8 points every night if he would just pay attention.

Lakers are defending Deron with three guys: primary, cheating wing, big ready to step up. We are basically leaving Wes on an island to guard Kobe. LOL.

The thing is, I'm not sure what else you do.

At this point, why would you not defend LA the way they are defending us? They pack all 5 guys into the paint to take space away from Deron and Booz (taking a cue from what SA has done since the WCF), and dare us to beat them with jumpshots. I'm looking at shooting numbers for LA's primary players (3pt% and eFg% on jumpshots), and this is not all that great a jumpshooting team. In fact, their 3pt shooting is pretty ugly overall for their main guards/wings.

                      Kobe: 32.9%
                      Fish: 34.8%
                      Artest: 35.5%
                      Farmar: 37.6%
                      Odom: 31.9%
                      Brown: 32.8%

The great SA teams killed you playing the two-man game, and when you tried to collapse they had like 3-5 guys shooting +40% from 3. Jazz play a great two-man game, but don't have the shooters. At this point, LA looks pretty similar.

Pack the paint around Poo, make everyone else shoot midrange, and live with the results.

That's the thing, where do you bring help? The Lakers are the best team in the league at cutting to the basket where the help is coming from. They got a ton of layups today because of that.

The Jazz's only hope there is to bring help off of Artest and pray that he settles for jumpers.

Either that, or don't bring help at all and see what playing straight up does.

@jadande Lakers hold on for 104-99 W. Jazz did a lot of driving in last 5 mins to only shoot 4 FTs.
Sloan was sure ticked down the stretch.

Jazz do they same against less disciplined defensive teams. But LA packs everyone in. I think we should do the same.

The one problem is that we definitely don't have the size to make the paint feel as packed as LA does. But something in that vein is worth a shot.

I'll be interested to see how SA handles them.

I can honestly say I don't hate any of the Jazz players. That would be like hating SDSU football players ... why should I want to punch a guy we bat .750 against? Don't get me wrong, I totally understand why you guys would want to hurt insignificant Lakers like Vujacic, Farmar, and Fisher.

Here's to a fun game 2 on Tuesday where everybody remains healthy, and most importantly; gets good exercise.
