Living in Socal was a great relief and helped ease the burden his family was feeling in caring for his daughter.

So yeah Fisher lied is a pretty lame response.

Did he take the opportunity to play for LA? yep he did but I don't see how what he did was a lie or an abuse of his daughters medical condition.

The Jazz are mad they got nothing for him. And that he won a championship. I don't understand the beef people have with Fisher over this. Shouldn't it be with Jazz brass instead?

I don't understand it because he did us a favor. Fisher is terrible and a huge defensive liability. The only reason that he is even servicable with the Lakers is because the triangle doesn't require a good point guard to be effective and the Lakers are good enough offensively to make up for his defense.

How can we be mad at Jazz brass when he deceived them? LHM all but came out and stated on the radio that Fisher lead him and KOC to believe that his only options were to head to play for a team in the Northeast. Fisher never mentioned any possibility of playing in LA, or anywhere in the west for that matter. Otherwise, you're right, they probably wouldn't have let him go for nothing. Did he breach a written agreement? No. Did he withhold information from the Jazz in order to facilitate his departure from Utah? Yes.

That said, I was (and am) happy that Fisher left. But pretending like he was completely up-front with Jazz brass about his situation, and that his decision was made 100% with his family in mind is disingenuous.

Exactly. Count me among the Jazz fans who are not upset that he left. LA won a title because it landed Pau. They won the same title in spite of Fisher.

LHM pretty much called him out on it and he took advantage of LHM and his good-hearted nature. Fisher never was upfront with LHM about the future plans of his family to go back to LA. He lead them to think he was headed east to be near specialists for her. Not feeling it being an issue since he was not going to a conference opponent they released him and he quickly changed course and signed with LA. LHM felt deceived and I think if he knew up front the true intentions he would of tried to get something for him and if that failed I still think LHM would of released him. More then anything, LHM felt deceived (And Fisher used his daughter as a tool to get out of a contract) and I think that is what bothers some of us. At least me..

I don't care if he sucks. At least be up front about your intentions and man up to it.. I still think LHM would of let him go either way and Fisher would of still had fans in Utah if he had approached it up front and honest..

I didn't say Fisher was straight up. I said the Jazz released him for nothing. And that is on LHM and KOC. It's bad business.

I wish you guys had kept him.

Sometimes being a good person means bad business. I'll bet that cured KOC of any desire to be a good person in the future. Thanks Fisher!

not really. You think it was all settled that he would be in LA when he was asking Miller for a release? I don't. At the time of his release he was going back and forth to NY. Soon thereafter less trips were required and he was able to spend more time with loved ones in SoCal. The fact that he ended up in SoCal does not mean that he wasn't up front with Miller. Miller felt like Fisher wasn't up front but from where I sit it looked like Miller and Fisher were not sure of the future. Once that future materialized Miller had some regret.

You give Fisher to much benefit of the doubt... If memory serves me. He signed pretty damn quickly with LA upon his release from Utah...

Fisher requested to be released on July 2, 2007. Jazz released him shortly thereafter (A day or two). He signed with LA on July 19, 2007..

Yeah. All two weeks sure did cause things to change dramatically.

Well, I assume you are a Laker fan. LHM straight up said that Fisher told him it would be to a team in the Northeast and not to a competing conference team. Obviously I don't disagree that he had doctors and what not in Socal, but the deception was definitely there. But, hey, good riddance.

I used to hang with one of Fisher's girlfriends. Aerobic instructor by day in Otown, Fisher's lady when he was in town at night. She had an agreement with him, when they were in town she was at his mercy and on one road trip a year. She lived in a modest apartment, wore thousands of dollars in jewelry and had a Sclade. I always laugh when they reference the Kfamily man' Fisher. Dudes a creep.

Fisher is not in Utah...Utah unfortunately got nothing for him...moving on...why this has to come up each time we play the Lakers is beyond me.

                                Fisher...what a piece of garbage.

And I didn't follow the entire leaving Utah episode (too busy celebrating the departure). I'm just talking about his basketball ability - and I use the term "ability" VERY lightly.

But damned if the guy doesn't lead the league in leaderships/per48 every year.
