      • I expect tonight's game to be really good. I'd prefer a Jazz win, as I'd rather rather see them take on Harden and I've been impressed by the turnaround. But I care mainly about being entertained, which I expect to be. In games like this one I think of what Steve Kerr has said about the "home court disadvantage." It's always better to play at home, but if the home team falls behind or struggles at all, esp. in the 4th, the team can feel the tension and hear the gasps, often causing them to tighten up and play worse. So chill Jazz fans, you got this.

Even I have to say that you two are better than this...

That said.... I'm a two team guy... The Blazers and the Jazz. Nobody says you can't like two teams. In fact I think the Blazers and the Jazz ought to form an alliance like on Survivor and work together to develop a Super Team with a 5 year window, while the other tanks and send it's draft picks to the alliance partner. That way... both teams will have a shot at a championship at some point in the future... because the way it's going the last 25 years.... neither is going to the finals let alone winning. Let the two teams work together and build a Super team and then swap players every 5 years.

On Survivor its common fact to advance in the game you need an alliance to move forward. No one wins when you go it alone. The Blazes and the Jazz cannot - will not - ever get a decent free agent that can take them to the next level. Baring that... if these two teams worked together to put a great team on the floor - with the best players between the two of them on the Alpha team, and the tanking Beta team sending off the first rounder to the Good Alpha team. Give Alpha a 5 year shot at doing good, and then flip flop Alpha and Beta, and let the other team have a shot for 5 years. That would be more fun and interesting that the current spin cycle of mediocrity.

That's like when someone claims they are really a better golfer than their handicap shows.

With so much evidence to the contrary, how can you claim they are better than this?

                  OK, that was funny.

It is my fault. I have told the Dude to go fuck himself (and other variations of the phrase) so many times that the insult has lost all meaning to him.

I agree they SHOULD be better than that, but as falafel points out ....

Your idea, intriguing though it is, would excite Mueller as it is an example of improper collusion. Multi-dimensional probability notwithstanding, it isnt happening.

It isn't the chain yanking that I dislike, its the choice of epithet. It's needlessly crude and base, even for this place. But it is probably really hilarious and I just have a stunted sense of humor. Nothing says clever like telling someone to eff off.

That's fair. I dislike the cavalier use of the term, think it lowers rather than raises the quality of discourse and lacks even a three stooge-esque not clever but still funny quality for me. But obviously YMMV. Apparently Yohio and JL thinks it is amusing and A-OK, as do others here.

To be clear, I would not want to impose any sort of prior restraint, but I am disappointed when some people who should know better (IMO) fail to impose their own self-restraint. That's all.

That all said, I would prefer to get back to the thread topic. Will RW go off again? More importantly, will the refs call a few phantom fouls?

Btw, did you realize that the guy who called the foul on Royce Clayton when Adams clocked Westbrook is the same ref who called the phantom fourth foul on Gobert in game 5?
