not sure how you got that from last night. gobert couldnt hold on to the ball, mitchell couldnt hit anything but layups, and horrible coaching in last 2 minutes.

I agree. Crowder was trying a bit too hard, perhaps, because it was Boston, but on balance i thought he played well. Plus, the coaching could have been . etter in the last two minutes, but to some extent it was on the players. Nothing Snyder can do about the team letting the dude sprint down the lane for . layup or fail to box out Larkin etc. A very upsetting loss, but sometimes ther guys just don't just make plays.

I am concluding the Jazz are much better than I expected but maybe just not good enough to be in the playoffs. But, they have good potential (with Mitchell) and if they fail to make the playoffs they will at least get a better pick.

I got that from the last 5 years of watching him play. But I agree that last night Snyder was thoroughly out coached down the stretch on both ends of the court.

The last two offensive possessions (or two of the last three) were essentially screens around the 3pt line until late in the clock before Mitchell and/or Rubio drove and took ill-advised shots. Boston's scouting report was solid, as they knew exactly what was coming and completely shut it down. Perhaps it was just our players being awful, but it looked an awful lot like whatever Snyder drew up was exactly what Boston was expecting.

On Boston's go-ahead 3, Boston came out of a timeout with 5 guards/wings. Stevens knew Snyder would have Gobert in the game and Snyder didn't have a timeout to make a substitution. Stevens, knowing Gobert would suck down and try to block any interior shot, drew up a play that took Gobert's man and had him wide open at the 3. The driving PG scrub whose name I don't even know didn't even have to look when he passed, because he knew the guy would be wide open. That left Gober to scramble out to the 3pt line. I'm sure that guy had the option to shoot or pass if the pop-up player was uncovered. One extra pass resulted in a wide open 3 by a hot shooter. Again, maybe this was just awful execution by Jazz players, but it sure looked like Boston knew exactly how Utah would react and leave open.

I think the first is probably true, but the fact is that our offense is NOT very god. Boston just played excellent defense and the Jazz tried to do what they can do. Boston D is very good, even with the back ups at key positions.

The second one I would have to look at but I think that was a missed switch on a screen. Gobert did go out to cover but I recall that they missed a switch. Then there was no execution when the extra pass was made.

The fact is the Jazz just are not that good on offense. Sadly, the defense let down at a bad time on the last possession, assuming i recall it correctly, but I just don't see this as Stevens out coaching. I still think it was mostly incomplete execution.

I am 90% sure they will make the playoffs, given the schedules of teams around us. Hopefully not 8th seed.
