He gets time because he was a major off season acquisition. Certainly not because he's earned it with his play.

I wonder if starting Carroll and sending Marvin to the bench would help Marvin at all. Carroll is great off the bench, but I feel like Marvin's shitty offensive performance is due to the fact that the ball has always been getting thrown into the paint to Millsap or Jefferson.

As much as his offense has been non-existent. He still does play solid defense and doesn't chuck us out of games like Josh Howard did or CJ Miles.

That his overall game has regressed in Gordon's absence is the most troublesome thing though. He's being given playing time and besides some decent defense he's not really helping.

It's bullshit that when Hayward and Mo come back, Burks and Carroll will sit while Marvin continues to get consistent minutes. Not because he helps them win or due to his having played better, but because it is simply easier to sit Carroll/Burks.

Haven't checked but I'm pretty certain it's player.

Player option, but I believe the final year is only partially guaranteed. I thought I read that somewhere but now can't find where it was. Makes a lot more sense of why Utah would've made that trade if they knew they could buy out the final year for only $1-2 M if Williams chooses to exercise the option.

I don't think he'll sit Carroll and he probably shouldn't. Burks surely will have some DNPs though.
