You said it, not me. I was only commenting on pulling a guy with just two fouls in the second quarter - a guy who is lucky to play 20 minutes and ended up playing just 19.

Does it make sense to pull a guy after 2 second quarter fouls if you're only going to play him 15-20 minutes anyway? Again, nowhere did I say Corbin coached like shit. I'm only commenting on why a coach would pull a guy under those circumstances.

But way to put words in my mouth and to blow what I said way out of proportion. You did great.

    • Regarding the game winner by Al against Sacramento the other night. Am I the only one who thinks that Devin Harris had no intention of passing to Al, that Devin just took a really bad shot and Al was there to clean it up?

Of course Boler and Harp were congratulating Harris on such a fine pass, but over at Grantland, one guy did an analysis of what a great play it was.

I suppose the post is really about how they got Harris open to inbound the ball, but I still think it was a shot.

Because he didn't get back into the game because the team was rolling and maybe you don't mess with that to make message board posters happy. You are right, when you put it like that it doesn't sound like much of a criticism. I retract my sarcasm SloanHater SMR.

There was an interview with Harris where he said it was a great pass with kind of a winking nod. I think it was a shot.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

          • Jazz are what now, 26-22 after the six wins in a row?

What would their record be if Harris had come into the season with a pulse?

And what's with Bell airing his crap in the press, while acting like he's not airing it in the press? "I'm healthy. I don't know why I'm not playing. If you play long enough you realize you can't control stuff like this...Um, but please go ask Coach Corbin any questions you have about this, I'm not going to talk about it."

            I hate that guy.

Yet John Hollinger was saying how bad the Clippers coach was compared to the brilliant play that Corbin called to get Al the easy bucket.

It was a great play. Not sure Harris made the entirely right decision, however. Also, the inbounds for the potential Sap game winner against Minny was brilliant.

Can we stop complaining about Corbin? All he's doing right now is winning. Why do we care how many minutes CJ plays as long as we win?

You asked, so I'll answer. Everything we've seen throughout this season suggests that Burks and Hayward can play as many minutes as any other wing on the team and the team doesn't lose anything in terms of wins and losses. So if you can win and develop the young players by playing them the most minutes, why not do that?

Corbin has the ability to accomplish two positive things each night: 1) win 2) win and develop the young players as much as possible at the same time.

What seems strange to me is that if you can accomplish two goals without losing anything in terms of the first or second goal, why would you be fine with only accomplishing one of those goals? That makes no sense.

I admit it sounds silly on the surface to complain about any coaching decisions when the team is winning. But we're Jazz fans and we want what is best for the team. Not satisfied with just winning when we know they can win and develop Hayward and Burks more.

It isn't just that they don't lose anything in terms of the team's ability to win games, but it actually seems like the team has a better shot at winning with Burks and Hayward.

                        Simple Ratings

                        Hayward +2.2
                        Burks +1.3
                        Miles -2.0
                        Howard -3.2
                        Bell -3.9

                        Opp Production

                        Hayward 10.1
                        Howard 10.7
                        Burks 13.4
                        Bell 14.8
                        Miles 15.9

So that's the real dig, in my mind, with Corbin's handling of the young wings. I can understand if he wants to win every game possible and so he keeps Kanter's minutes down. And for all of the good signs Favors has shown, and even though it is overwhelmingly obvious that he is the future, he has had some turnover issues and inconsistent play (albeit in very inconsistent minutes).

But Burks and Hayward aren't just younger but are better and more productive and more efficient and better defenders than the other options Corbin has at the 2 and 3. If he really wanted to make the playoffs and try to get a better seed, he'd be making sure Hayward was playing 35 mpg and that Burks was getting more minutes than any other wing. And he'd set the rotation so their minutes weren't limited by subbing them in late in the 1st and 3rd quarters.

                        • Watching the Warriors tonight and so far Thompson has 19 in the 1st half.

Would you trade Hayward for Paul George? What about Burks for Thompson?

Looks like all 4 of those picks, back-to-back each year, are going to turn out pretty well.

No, on both counts, but it's close. In regard to Burks, I think he is a superior all around player and due to his ability to get to the FT line. He's almost double Thompson in terms of FTs despite 20 mpg for Thompson to 14 mpg for Burks. Thompson is a better pure shooter, but I think Burks will always have a higher FG% and be the better scorer.

Hayward and George are pretty similar offensively, but I think Hayward is a better defender and playmaker.
