I figured me saying it's on Twitter would be sufficient for you to look up his account.

I'm not sure what to make of Deron's comments. A week ago he was saying he would have signed a longer extension had he known the salary structure in the league might be redone. The comments were, uh, questionable and Boozer-esque.
This week he's flipped and he's glad he only signed a three year extension. Seems to be an entirely emotional reaction because in basketball terms this doesn't much hurt the Jazz.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Seems like he's just upset that he lost one of his good buddies in a deal that will do nothing for this team. He might as well make statements like that to scare the hell out of Greg Miller and KOC to get them to do something to improve the team.

Grace, it may or may not hurt the Jazz - that remains to be seen. But it stands to reason that if a team trades its starting SG - who plays 25-30 minutes a game on a 3rd place team - and gets nothing in return, there is a good chance they will indeed be worse off. Or is that crazy talk?Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostI'm not sure what to make of Deron's comments. Again, nobody knows for sure, but I can see where Deron is coming from if he thinks it will hurt them in basketball terms.I'm like LeBron James.

Deron should realize that having a wing defender who plays closer to him than the starting 2 guard also hurts in basketball terms.Again, nobody knows for sure, but I can see where Deron is coming from if he thinks it will hurt them in basketball terms.
Ronnie was not a hard execution guy and was never going to be. I get that Deron likes him, but at this point (ie. serious lack of progression in year 4 with regards to needed skill) I would have traded him for a 1st rounder before even the salary considerations.
This team has played basketball inside-out (C who roams perimeter, SG whose only skill is inside) for years and structurally its a huge flaw that has been visibly apparent (watch any game against a quality opponent -- especially playoff games when teams have time to scheme). This is a step in the right direction, and has needed to happen for a while -- I just had a hard time dealing with it before because I liked Ronnie so much. Now that it's happened, I'm kind of glad.
Next step is getting rid of Memo's sorry ass.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Of course this could all get ugly should Korver has knee troubles again or CJ eat his way into the Oliver Miller camp. Suddenly you go from logjam to thin at the wing.So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

This move is based on their hope that Korver is good to go. I don't think they expect anything more than they are getting from Miles but Korver needs minutes if his knee is truly healed and that's what they're counting on. I was encouraged to see him at least stay in front of his man on defense in their last game (Korver that is). If he can play marginal defense, which is all Miles gives you, than his minutes will increase because his shooting is damn good right now.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostOf course this could all get ugly should Korver has knee troubles again or CJ eat his way into the Oliver Miller camp. Ok, time to see if D-Will pouts his way to a loss tonight against an inferior team. I hate to say it but D-Will and a few other Jazz players play to the level of their competition as well as the national exposure and these games, moreso than the higher profile games, are the ones that worry me. Can he find it in his heart to win despite the front office's apparent disregard for his feelings? Can he win despite wanting to sign with the Lakers tonight rather than 2 years from now? We'll see. I'm enjoying the winning immensely and personally I think if Deron and others can put this trade into perspective they'll realize that team continuity will increase as the rotation shrinks.Originally posted by MarkGrace View PostNo, Miles does not give you marginal defense.
