    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

    • Bravo to the women 4x100. Especially Sha'Carri.

Carl Lewis is right. Blow up the system. It's not easy to pass a baton at world class speed but it sure as hell shouldn't be as hard as we are making it. This now makes five olympics in a row we have gone without a medal in the men's 4x100. One of those was a 2012 silver medal stripped for doping. But the rest were all bad exchanges. Add running out of the zone in 1988 and that 6 out of the last 10 olympics we have been disqualified. Prior to 1988 we won ever Olympics 4x100 gold we competed for except for 1912 and 1960 (in which I just learned we were also DQ'd).

This is a race we should own unless Usain Bolt is anchoring another team. The only reason this can be happening is not enough practice between the selected team members.

That is the maddening thing. This should be very easy to fix.

                  • Manz and Young were solid. Both under 2:09. Amazing how the top 10 handled that brutal course.

                    • The NBC coverage seems to have been very light on scores, leaderboards, etc. this time IMO. I’ll be watching an event for five minutes and have no idea who is in the lead or what the score is.

                          Yeah, that was really fun.

Yes, I've noticed the same thing.

He was playing okay, but when he got his fifth turnover (not good but not unusual) I told the missus that Curry was pissed and that we were about to see another Curry Flurry. An absolutely amazing finish, and that last three was sick. One would think it was luck, but he's dropped those many dozens of times. Let us give thanks. And I loved the shot of him with his wife and newborn, their fourth, whose arrival was timed so as not to interfere with the Olympics.
