Surprised we don't have one of these already. Let's get this baby rolling.

This seems significant. Interesting how the NCAA allowed this to happen but international sport has taken a different stance.

Super excited for these Olympics, for obvious reasons. The French seem to be making some great, unique decisions on event locations. I especially like the opening ceremonies being held along the Seine and using boats for the parade of athletes.

Plus, break dancing is a sport which takes me back to my nostalgic early childhood.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I am really looking forward to this:

Mu fell during the U.S. qualifier and will not be defending her 800M T&F gold medal from Tokyo. What a bummer.

That was sad. Hate to victim blame, but she hasn't raced hardly at all this year and she should never get in the middle of a pack like that. In the semi the commentator was talking about the danger for her in the pack only for the fear to be realized.

The trials coverage has been excellent this year. Super fun to watch every night.

Highlights have been the two BYU guys getting 1st and 3rd in the Steeple. Looks like they have added a race for this friday in Pennsylvania so that Corrigan can try and get the oly qualifying time.

Also that 16 year old that made the finals of the 400. WTF? kid looks like a baby, but he can fly with these full grown men. Kid runs a 44 second 400. He got 6th last night, so while not qualifying individually, he may get to go run in the qualifying heats of the 4x400. It was awesome to see him out there wearing his HS uniform and his HS coach was there coaching him. Unreal.

This is interesting. Poor kid. I tend to believe him, unlike that burrito eating lady from 3 years ago.

Rugby 7's and Soccer have already started pool play. I still don't understand the rules of rugby, especially what constitutes change of possession but man what a watchable sport that is even so.

Agreed on rugby 7s. Super watchable and fun.

Sabotaging train lines on opening day seems very French.
