As of today, I would start Haws, Emery, Childs, Mika and Davis.

My hope would be that either Childs or Dastrup can be good enough that they supplant Davis at some point and/or Bryant is good enough to force his way in to the starting lineup. so, you have a starting lineup of either Haws, Emery, Childs, Dastrup, Mika... or Haws, Emery, Bryant, Childs, Mika... or Haws, Emery, Bryant, Dastrup, Mika.

I have always been skeptical of Yoeli Childs playing the 3. Do folks who have seen him play against college level players believe he could play a wing for BYU?

for me it's more about getting the best 5 on the floor.

yes, i think he has the athleticism to guard most 3s, though it looked like he'll spend most of his time at the 4 on this year's team.

I don't. That doesn't mean I don't think he can play the 3, in generic terms when you think of a college 3. It means, I think the 3 in Roses' system is a position he can't play. At least not yet.

That is where I am. I don't see Rose wanting to not play Bryant, Emery or Haws to put Childs on the court with Dastrup or Aytes and Mika. I think Yoeli is a clear 4 at BYU.

i don't think we disagree as i even said above it looks like Childs will mostly play the 4, but if Bryant (and LJ Rose) is out due to injury thinning out the backcourt depth, that could force Rose to change it up a bit.

It would be a big damn team when Haws, Emery, Yoeli, Dastrup and Mika were all on the court at the same time. Still don't want to see it, but it would be big.

I have only seen him play in a glorified scrimmage, but I can't see him effectively hanging with opposing wings on the perimeter. He is more Keena Young than Johnny Tavernari.

It sounds like the other night it was three teams playing five minute games. Tonight it will be in the format of a regular game -- 2 teams, 20 minute halves.
