Since UVU the kids are starting to figure out the rotations and improving. Nick accepting his role as a stopper helped and the freshman are getting more experience.

There has been some self-inflicted pain with this team but I am getting more and more optimistic. I think we beat St Mary's at home, only lose 1 more WCC game outside of Gonzaga and then get a chance to redeem the year in the WCC semis with a neutral floor matchup with St Mary's. As Elijah Bryant finds his groove and our freshman continue to improve I think we have more room to grow than the Gaels.

Next year should be the funnest year since Jimmer graduated.
This is a painful year of lost opportunities. I hope you are correct that the team will find its rotation because this year appears to be another year tarrying in the Second and Fourth Circles of Hell.

The pieces are there but the parts don't work well together when it matters against good teams.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Being a WCC team has its major challenges, one of which being that if you want to play good teams, almost all of them have to be stacked into November and December. That's not ideal when you have an inexperienced team, even one that has some good talent. They are better than they were back then. They just need to work on continued improvement and on the game in front of them. USF coming up next will be an interesting opponent in that they are a good outside shooting team.

The WCC should be a 2 bid league this year. It will come down to beating SMC two times and beating Gonzaga once (and not losing to anyone else). If we do that there is still a chance we get in. Lots of basketball left to play.

I think BYU can get in even if they are swept by the Zags. If BYU beats SMC twice and only loses one other time in WCC play, other than the Zags, they will be in. If there is more than 1 WCC loss outside of Zags then we need to likely beat the Zags at home to bolster the resume.

To me it comes down to two wins over SMC and no more than 3 more losses in WCC play. It is the consistency that BYU will need rather than the high end win over the Zags - although that would be nice.

It would help if Colorado and Princeton will win games. We have a dearth of top 100 rpi wins.

Princeton got off to a rough start but they're now on a 4-game winning streak going into conference play. Both Princeton and CU are still projected to finish as rpi top 100 teams, according to rpiforecast.com.

The fact that such a site exists shows there are many people with too much time.

Here is another really good one for those who like to get a handle on which teams are likely to make the tournament. The consensus is always more accurate than following just one bracketologist.

Hey BYU71, We're favored by the casinos by 13 points over USF. Good news! You can watch the game tomorrow without fear. Don't worry, I won't tell you when BYU isn't favored. But I'm going go out on a very strong limb and predict we'll be favored in the next six games.

Easy money for SF to cover. They shoot threes which is something we do not, nor do we guard against them.

Isn't it against the Honor Code defending the threesome?

That's not bad. Others might give you the #Topperhumor treatment but that isn't the worst joke I've ever read.

We'll see. Statistically for the year BYU's opponents make 30% of their threes. Yes, there have been some outliers like UVU and SMC. Utah had a horrific game defending the 3 against the Dons though. Then again, Kenpom ranks Utah's D pretty far below ours.
