Seemed about on par with other employees at KSL including Wrubell. I guess they employ blind BYU and blind Utah homers now.

The conclusion was right though, Delon Wright is the best player in the state.

I have been a Pac-10/Pac-12 basketball fan long before the Utes were included. I'm a west coaster and I support west coast basketball. My priority for rooting interests in college basketball have always been Utah first, Pac-10/Pac-12 second. You are right, I'm a conference cheerleader.

However, as much as I'm a cheerleader you are a hater of the Pac-10/Pac-12. I guess neither of us really can put out an objective opinion on this evaluation.

I attended the first Pac 10 basketball tournament in Pauley and then saw Sean Elliott win his second MVP in the Forum two years later before they cancelled the tournament. I have long pined for BYU to be in the Pac 10 and that hasn't changed. If BYU could be in any conference of my choice it'd be the Pac 10.

Because he deserves it. I have long considered how Utah and BYU react to their awful announcers as one of the great examples of how Utah and BYU fans are different. Wrubell is absolutely god awful. He is terrible. He has no redeemable qualities as an announcer. The same can be said of Bill Riley for the Utes. The difference, Utes acknowledge this but BYU fans think that Wrubell actually is good at his job.

The exact same thing happened when Paul James and Bill Marcroft were the respective voices of BYU and Utah.

The rating is based on differential. Obviously the power conferences get more teams ranked, especially in early season polls which is why you see them all here among the overrated.

You are right, Riley is awful. Wrubell is not, however. While he is a homer to BYU, BYU is very lucky to have him. I have lived many places in the US and most every other announcer for college football is on par with Riley.

I've been thinking it's the BYU fans with the strongest Weber State connections. I have no BYU connections except relatives who went there, one who was a prof, and one who was the president. Very attenuated. I could have gone there but decided not to.

He isn't employed by KSL, Deseret Media cut most of their journalists for ksl.com/deseret news and instead now let's anyone submit articles and then are paid for the article if they use it. That's why you see mostly message board posts and blog posts masquerading as articles over there now.
