not to mention that gonzaga team was really goodOriginally posted by smokymountainrain View PostYes, as a sophomore recently returned from a mission he scored 1 point against Gonzaga. As a junior with a year under his belt, he scored 23 points on 15 shots against a team that has lost 2 times in the last 10 years in their building. If anything, I'm impressed with the improvement and adjustments he made to ensure that wouldn't happen again.
But as DH has reminded us, you are correct that Haws isn't a lottery pick. Kudos.Te Occidere Possunt Sed Te Edere Non Possunt Nefas Est.

I think I'd go Smith over Durrant, but that could be because Smith was a childhood hero, while I have very little recollection of watching Durrant.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostI have thought about that. It would probably be Durrant. But he would be the Teddy Roosevelt of the group.I'm like LeBron James.

So you want a good BYU player to assist in only beating bad teams?Originally posted by old_gregg View Postnot to mention that gonzaga team was really good"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

To bad Haws is not more like Marcus Smart.
3-14 in a loss at Kansas
6-18 in a loss against Oklahoma
4-13 in a loss to Memphis
4-16 in a loss against Kansas state.
I also wish Haws shot 41% from the floor and 32% from three like Smart.
I mean Smart sucks against good teams but what about thr bad teams like Pacific?
5-13 against Utah Valley
3-9 against Arkansas Pine-Bluff
4-10 against Mississippi valley state.
Damn that Haws for not being as good.

So I wasn't around but I keep seeing people say MW once claimed he could take Jimmer one on one. Is this true? If so he should be banned from critiquing basketball ever again.Originally posted by SCcoug View PostNo surprise but Mike Waters also doesn't like Haws.

He said he could shut him down one on one. Its been a while but I think he also claimed either a chair or a garbage can could guard him.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostSo I wasn't around but I keep seeing people say MW once claimed he could take Jimmer one on one. Tyler Ennis has done okay for a freshman point guard.

There are 12 guys on scholarship, right? I'm not sure he is referring to Worthington. He is a freshman, after-all.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostMakes me wonder if that quote has something to do with him realizing they may have missed badly on Worthington. I don't know everybody who is on scholarship, but that is one who comes to mind that Rose simply can't afford to have on the floor and really hasn't shown any signs of being a D1 player.
That's harsh. I'd take him on my rec league team any day!Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostLet's be honest. Luke hasn't shown signs of being a basketball player on any level, including intramurals or rec league. I'm still doubtful that he played organized ball in HS.
But anyway, maybe there is still hope. Before the season, Mekeli told me that he was watching the guys during pre-season and he was more excited about Worthington than Mika. Sure, he was way off, but there may still be something there. I'd wager that Worthington would turn into a quality big at USU, but I have never thought Rose developed big men like Stew.
Uh. Ty is a junior. There's no reason to think BYU won't be at least a little better next year. Unless you think Mika is the difference maker. I'll go ahead and guarantee a tourney birth next year. Maybe that will help keep your spirits up.Originally posted by Topper View PostOn a team trending toward the NIT. Will Ty fail to see the NCAA Tournament again, or will his freshman year be his only visit to the Tourney?
