It was at the top of this key where I bet my basketball coach double or nothing on 17's, that I could make two in a row. I felt guilty when all the others had to run at the end of practice.

I enjoyed Dave Rose's press conference today at basketball Media Day. I assume it will be available on demand soon. He emphasized the youth of the team (no seniors) and how he has pressed some of the newcomers to be ready to contribute. I think there will be plenty of mistakes by this team, especially early. I also expect it to be a lot of fun."It's devastating, because we lost to a team that's not even in the Pac-12. To lose to Utah State is horrible." - John White IV

I think this team has potential, but inexperience and mission rust makes the range of how they'll do fairly large. I think on balance they should be slightly better than last year and should get a low seed in the NCAA.Originally posted by kccougar View PostI enjoyed Dave Rose's press conference today at basketball Media Day. I am worried about this team. 3 true bigs on the entire roster and two of them are true freshman. I know Dave Rose thinks we are athletic enough to play man, the guard line definitely is. I think we will be forced to play a lot of zone to keep guys out of foul trouble.
Napper is probably right we will see a lot of 4 guard lineups with KC playing a hybrid 4 position.

It's going to be interesting for sure. I think this team is going to be frustrating and a lot of fun to watch at the same time. It's definitely going to give us a taste of the future which I am really geeked about.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostI am worried about this team. 3 true bigs on the entire roster and two of them are true freshman. I would estimate that Rose's plans are to play Nate Austin at the 4 26 mpg and back him up with Collinsworth. Sharp will see spot duty. The Centers will be Mika and Worthington. However, given their youth I forsee much foul trouble and that will force Rose to move Nate to the 5 and more Collinsworth at the 4.
I think I agree with Indy about BYU. I forsee this team to be good but not good enough to get the upper half of a NCAA bracket.
But if Mika can get 9 ppg on hustle plays grab 7 rpg and stay out of foul trouble and average 26 mpg, Nate Austin is consistent with a perimeter jumper and can score 10 ppg and average 28 mpg and Collinsworth stays healthy and can play 25 mpg, they could be a bit better.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I'm super geeked for basketball. I like the chemistry on this team from what I've seen and I think we'll be able to run teams out of the gym. Their ability to have fun playing the game will count for a lot. Lotsa Haws this year just like last year, but also KC back to shore up the guards. If Carlino can step it up just a little it's going to be a crazy fun year. Mika is going to sell a lot of tickets.

I appreciate your caution, but if I may be so bold... Mika is gonna get about 15 ppg.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View Post

Possibly- who knows. Also-- who was the last BYU player that could throw it down with authority off of one foot or two? We've had a lot of gentle giraffes, but nobody with mojo like Mika. (Of course I'm no kind of authority, which is why I ask.)Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostReally looking forward to seeing Mika this year, too.
Kind of bummed though that he's going on a mission. Maybe he'll change his mind?"I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

Given his hoops upbringing and high school experience, I have a feeling that Mika's basketball IQ is much higher than Plaisted's. Feel free to maintain your optimism Commando!Originally posted by Donuthole View PostProbably Plaisted. Sorry for ruining your thought.Dyslexics are teople poo...
