Real simple question is Utah better now than when Larry Krystkowiak took the team over? If so that means they are moving in the right direction. I didn't say he was the coach to get Utah where they need to be, I specifically stated that I'm on the fence on the staff.

Another simple question is UNLV better off this year than they were when Dave Rice took over the team?
Do you understand the word: "inconclusive?" Nobody has any idea if Utah is better as they have not played anyone and they have yet to win a road game. Remember that Sweet 16 Utah went to under Giac and everyone (including you) were praising how Chris Hill hit another homerun?

Yes I'm well aware of the mistake that I made with Giacoletti. In fact, I think I've referenced it multiple times in this thread in discussing you prematurely anointing Rice as a great coach. Giacoletti is a great example how a shitty coach following a great coach benefits. Giacoletti's team the first year looked like they knew what they were doing. That is because the team had been coached by one of the all time greats and he was benefiting from that teaching. Rice got a similar advantage after taking over for Lon Kruger.

You really are arguing that Utah isn't better now than they were in Boylen's last season? Also, maybe you mean that Utah has beaten anyone, because Utah has certainly played good teams now that we are in conference. I also think it would be inaccurate to say that we haven't beaten anyone as we have a victory over UCLA. While I still have no opinion on if Larry Krystkowiak is a good coach or a good hire, he certainly has made the team better in his time at Utah.

Rashad Vaughn the number 10 player in the country commits to UNLV.

Let's take a look at the guys Dave Rice has brought in over the last 3 years:

              2012
Anthony Bennett- 5 star and number 1 pick in the NBA draft
Katin Reinhardt- 4 star and number 8 shooting guard in the country
Khem Birch- 5 star transfer from Pitt
Roscoe Smith- 4 star transfer from UCONN

              2013
Jelan Kendrick- 5 star transfer from Indian Hills CC, (#8 player in the country coming out of high school, originally committed to Memphis)
Christian Wood- 4 star power forward

              2014
Goodluck Okonoboh- 4 star, number 5 center in the country
Dwayne Morgan- 5 star, number 7 overall player in the country
Rashad Vaughn- 5 star, number 10 overall player in the country

He may not be winning the games he should, but he is a witch when it comes to recruiting.

He may not get to see those recruits hit the floor if he doesn't start producing. His seat is getting hotter all the time around here.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Vaughn, Morgan and Okonoboh bought him another year. No AD fires a coach that brings in recruits of that caliber for fear they go somewhere else.

However that puts even more pressure on him to win.

You could give a monkey Dave Rice's recruits and he'd have a better record. What a horrible coach.

Yeah. They'd be dumb to can him with a top 5 class. But he's likely gone if he doesn't win next year. But the dude sure can recruit.

I agree but could you imagine what Dave Rose could do with those recruits? Geeze, I'm drooling just thinking about what he is able to recruit.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I have not watched a ton of Rebel games, but I don't understand how he is not winning more. Is it bad chemistry or simply bad designs?

He has a team that cannot shoot at all.
