There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Their defense is actually pretty good. They're very athletic and rebound well. They just don't have anyone that can score from outside. And when you can't score from outside defenses can just pack it in.Originally posted by Topper View PostAnd he never was a defensive genius. This does not speak very highly of his coaching ability. It does speak to the good old days of UNLV boosters paying players being back though.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostRashad Vaughn the number 10 player in the country commits to UNLV.
Let's take a look at the guys Dave Rice has brought in over the last 3 years:
2012
Anthony Bennett- 5 star and number 1 pick in the NBA draft
Katin Reinhardt- 4 star and number 8 shooting guard in the country
Khem Birch- 5 star transfer from Pitt
Roscoe Smith- 4 star transfer from UCONN
2013
Jelan Kendrick- 5 star transfer from Indian Hills CC, (#8 player in the country coming out of high school, originally committed to Memphis)
Christian Wood- 4 star power forward
2014
Goodluck Okonoboh- 4 star, number 5 center in the country
Dwayne Morgan- 5 star, number 7 overall player in the country
Rashad Vaughn- 5 star, number 10 overall player in the country
He may not be winning the games he should, but he is a witch when it comes to recruiting. As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

That would be all on Dave Rice. He has a team that is entirely his recruits right now. He is regressing without the residual benefit of Lon Kruger's great coaching.Originally posted by Surfah View PostHe has a team that cannot shoot at all.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

Seems like he could find a sharp shooter somewhere in the JCs.Originally posted by Surfah View PostTheir defense is actually pretty good. They're very athletic and rebound well. Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

True. I said it earlier in this thread. They are full of athletes. But they are one dimensional. Teams pack the paint and force them to shoot over the top.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostThat would be all on Dave Rice. He has a team that is entirely his recruits right now. (Anthony Bennett is going off for Cleveland right now. He looks in shape and every bit the #1 pick)

He is redshirting this year after returning from a mission. I would imagine if nothing else the kid can shoot and UNLV definitely needs shooters.Originally posted by frank ryan View PostIs that the Dantley Walker guy? I wondered how he is doing there and if BYU made a mistake in not going after him.*Banned*
