That's a good question. It could certainly be argued that Bennett digressed after no longer being coached by Rice.

Or it could be argued that Bennett never deserved the 1st pick in the draft, you know like everyone said when he was drafted by Cleveland. Demetris Morant had some very interesting things to say about Rice.

I think everyone will agree (and did agree at the time) with this point. However, its not like he was a consensus second-rounder. The dude was considered a lottery pick, with most putting him in the 5-7 range.
