Would be stunned if he were mission bound, but who knows.

This BYU fan has no issues with athletes, or anyone really, who doesn't plan to serve a mission. An enormous loss IMO for them, but I get over that real quick.

I believe it indicates that while the HC and the BYU lifestyle is not a huge boon in BYU recruiting him it is not a hindrance. Since BYU appears to be able to offer many other amenities, sans the vaunted stipend, that athletes prefer such as winning and playing in really exciting arenas and winning, I will continue to assume BYU has a real good shot at landing him.

Finally, I really think his game fits well with BYU's style of play, especially if he can develop a consistent 3, and I think he will get to play a lot at BYU and perhaps even start for 3 years, unless BYU lands Jabari Parker.

While BYU fans sit back in the middle of March to watch a young but quickly improving team play in the NCAA tournament, LA Ute! invites JHill and the Maji Man over to watch his tivo recording of UCLA beating Utah by 35 on THE PAULEY PAVILLION FLOOR!

Different strokes fer diff'rent folks, I reckon!

Check that Utenation has its highlight of the year when BYU loses, uhgin, in the first round to a # 8 seeded team!

Anyway, Pauley's a fun place to have a game, although it looks like we won't be playing them there in 2011-2012 because of the renovations.

I hope no BYU player gets hurt on the Gersten "Pavilion" walls. (If that's a pavilion, what do they call a gym?)

I guess I should just get back to reviewing 2010-11 highlight reels, as BITF and Goat have addressed your cruel slight, but oh, my brother, does it bother you that your fixation on venues is akin to that of the desperate Cougar fan who, during the dismal Crowton years, resorted to attendance smack as his only solace? Granted, the Utes' basketball fortunes this past year sank to depths never plumbed by Crowton, so you should get a pass here.

I'd say I hope Krystko provides the grease for a smooth return to former glories, but I don't. I hope you're stuck with venue smack until BYU moves on to a superconference.

Goat and I kind of have a running skirmish going on about hoops venues. I actually think it will be very exciting to watch games in those smaller gyms. (I say that as a regular attender at Utah-Pepperdine games in Malibu over the years.) I sense, however, that my teasing about this is becoming obnoxious, so I will stop. Until Goat brings it up again.

Goat and I kind of have a running skirmish going on about hoops venues. I actually think it will be very exciting to watch games in those smaller gyms. (I say that as a regular attender at Utah-Pepperdine games in Malibu over the years.) I sense, however, that my teasing about this is becoming obnoxious, so I will stop. Until Goat brings it up again.

That is 1 of only 2 WCC venues in which I've watched a game, the other being Gonzaga (If you point out that the Marriott Center is in the WCC I will PM you a picture of my extended middle finger). It's a nice little volleyball arena but I was more impressed with the ocean view from campus. Those Church of Christ folks got themselves some prime real estate. Brigham Young found the wrong "place" IMO.

Without a doubt the most spectacularly-located campus in the USA, if not the world. A member of my ward had a full ride volleyball scholarship to Pepperdine and says it was a very pleasant place to attend college.

My buddy let us stay at his condo near campus for the BYU-UCLA football game a few years back (He later earned his Masters from Pepperdine following his graduation from BYU) and we spent an evening walking around campus the night before and I have to say that I agree with you. (Yes it was a very romantic walk )

Incidentally I include Gonzaga in my tour de force despite the game taking place 29 years ago only because a certain future HOF player was playing for them. (I was in attendance because my brother was attending Gonzaga at the time as well).

Oh, don't stop. I'm enjoying it. LMU's arena (ARENA!) looks like the Oakland Interstake Center where I dominated regional play in the '60s (or so my memory assures me, despite spending most of my time on those ultracool rollout bleachers). That's also where the Warriors held their team practices through much of the '70s and '80s; that they've sucked since leaving that superb venue is very revealing.
