The Oregon State game was terrible. Storey struggled against the press...and with no Jiggy, they had nowhere to turn. I really like Cedric Martin but he is not a point guard and he was asked to bring up the ball for a stint in the 1st half. It was ugly. Odunsi is not a point and they didn't even try him there...then they brought in a walkon and that was not pretty. It was too much for our Utes.

I know that you have issues with this Ute team, Krystko or whatever...but this Ute team is a better team now than they were 2 months ago. Not even a question. With that said, this is a bad Ute team. Its bad. They are overwhelmed on the road and they struggle at home. But I have enjoyed going to the games. I have missed 1 home game this year. I believe that I will be blessed in the afterlife for going to these games. My kids go with me and I think they could be taken up to Heaven's bosom immediately for the faith they have shown in going.

One surprise to me this year - There are significantly more fans in the stands, on average, this year than at any point last year. I don't know why, but the fans seem to like to watch the Utes a lot more than last year. Ticket sales are probably close to last year...but at least 1,000 more fans in the stands this year than last year.

It seems undeniable to me that under Krysko the Utes have an identity as a team (apart from just being bad). Both offensively and defensively there is an on obvious philosophy at work, they play hard, and don't quit. I think fans are showing up to watch that.

We are losing a lot of games with really poor talent on the team. I see nothing to make me excited about next year with Krysto. I also see nothing to make me skeptical of his abilities to win. In short, this year was a complete waste.

Here's where hometown officiating and the talent discrepency meet. 4 straight drives to the hoop, no fouls. Really?

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

A couple of observations from another close loss...mostly on the side of the Arizona wildcats here...this is one of lazier teams I've seen this season. They seem to rely heavily on their talent and less on effort. A number of their players, including Nick Johnson, completely check out when they don't have the ball/aren't shooting well. This leads me to conclude that Sean Miller isn't nearly the coach people think he is, or at a minimum, he's not getting as much out of the talent he has as he should be.

For the Utes, this will be another close loss moral victory, but they allowed two runs of 15-0 and 12-0 (to end the game) and you just cannot do that. I do think their is room for optimism for this team. I don't think they've quit and that speaks volumes to me.

Holding strong at the 11th seed in the conference tourney right now...look out middle of the Pac 12!

                      Colorado tomorrow.

I will be there, ferociously cheering the Utes on to victory and telling Carlon Brown in no uncertain terms that he permanently carries the sort of dazed, overwhelmed look in his eyes that God typically reserves for the extreme elderly.

The thing about Brown, though, is he just saw what we all ended up seeing, but he saw it from the inside and he saw it very early.

Then Jace Freaking Tavita ant his 10% FGA saw it, and then we all saw it.

We were blinded by Luke Nevill, I tell you. He was tall, oozed finesse, and was so pale he would glow in the dark places of the ocean deep. But Carlon Brown wasn't blinded. He saw.

So, I guess Carlon Brown was a sort of harbinger, or something. Tough to blame him.

But I'll still yell at him.

Also, Utah stays within 40 this time. Mark it down.

Carlon had a brutal game today. Just pressing too much. He was 0-4 in the first 3 minutes of the game. With that said, we had heard a lot of bad stories about him during his final year with Boylen. It was easy to label him as a bad egg. But I think you are right...he was kind of a Harbinger for Ute basketball. He knew the end was coming and he ran for his life. He has had a nice ending to his career playing for our rivals.

Bad shooting aside, that steal and coast-to-coast spin move he put on Odunsi is something approximately zero percent of our current players are capable of pulling off.

This thread became a lot less interesting after Utah notched win #2.

                              Good luck tonight.

Were 8400 people really there? That was the reported attendance on the ESPN box score.
