It was the most disappointing crowd of the year, and that's saying something!

I'm a Wizards and Redskins fan as many know so I am very acclimated to looking at a losing score in progress and thinking "nice, it will improve our draft position." I keep doing that with the running Utes too and then I remember, no, it doesn't actually help to lose.

Attendance smack is lame, but this has to be heart breaking and infuriating at the same time. I hope things improve for you next year. But not enough to beat us.

Ute fans are no different than any other fanbase, in that there is only a relatively small amount who will go to games no matter how good or poorly the team is playing. Everyone else are bandwagoners. That's just how it is.

The local cover guy for the Bears described last night's game as having been playing in "the library-like Huntsman Center."

The great and spacious Big Mac was often empty during our really bad years. LES will see a steady decline if opponents don't improve and records don't stay where they are. It happens everywhere.

Special K has made a believer out of me. They have put together a string of 8 or 9 games in which they seemed to have a game plan, tried to execute it, and played hard on the defensive end. We haven't been rewarded with wins mostly due to the ceiling level of our talent, but K has made these guys get better with each game. Thinking back to the ward ball style that we were playing in the Bahamas, it is hard to believe this is the same team. Even Washburn has progressed more this year than he has in the previous two combined.

We still have to see if he can recruit. Seeing at what Slocum did at CSU, we should at least have a shot at getting a few guys, so I'm optimistic there.

I'm now officially bullish on our program.

                    Go Utes!

AFREAKINGMEN!!! This is what coaching looks like. They lost a bunch of games against good teams that they were in until the last few minutes or the end. It's that much better that the team actually improved after Watkins got bounced. The Boylen stink is gone.

Don't worry about recruiting. We're in America's most glamorous conference. K's got to work up to Arizona levels, and it will take some time.

The "Boylen stink" gave us 36 points and 12 rebounds last night, scored 8 of our last 9 points, including the game-winning 3. But I'm glad you think "much better" consists of getting a win to avoid tying the longest losing streak in school history.

The "boylen stink" was not a reference to players per se, but to a culture and bad coaching. those kids never improved under Boylen, but now look at them.

K and his staff inherited two players, minus the two most productive players last season. They were competitive in a bunch of Pac games and avoided the kind of apocalyptic season that Willingham had his final year at Washington.

You will never live down your advocacy of Boylen. At least not with me. I don't konw why so many Utefans let you tell them what to think.

I've never advocated for Boylen being our long-term solution, but a proper defense was necessary in light of the incessant bulldrop that somehow Larry is doing a bang-up job this year in leading us to five wins and the worst record in school history.

Six wins. And he had to build a team virtually from scratch in two weeks after the recruiting season was practically over.
