You will recall that Jesse was part of a star-studded class of future Cougars that promised to eclipse the star-studded class of Shawn Bradley and the signees of 1990 ("Final 4 by 1994" anyone?) Well, as you well know Mark Durrant was no Devin, perhaps dominating Hurricane, Paige. AZ and Vernal High had not yet prepared Ryan Cuff for the bigtime and God told that damned mutant to go pro, one can get revelation in the Southern Hemisphere? PSHAW! Well fast-forward one decade and now the real star-studded BYU class that promised bringing BYU back was signing. Superstarr Jesse Pinegar, Burger King AA Garner freakin' Meads, the only Gentile from Utah County who preferred the 5 finger discount, Danny Ainge's son and could I forget the pride of Cottonwood himself, the man only known as DoubleD! Well, Jesse ended up being a lesbian (at best), Garner was the most persecuted and injured human since either Brandon Dart or Joseph Smith, somebody should have seen if DoubleD could run straight before giving him a scholie and of course Mr 5 finger discount despite the imitable ability of making Bob Ueker look like freakin' Ted Williams, without the cloning, chose to ply his wares on first collegiate baseball and then the Bonzai Pipeline, where it is my understanding the little haoulie got some religion so he might, in the perfect words of "Great White" 'get his hands across the steel line.'

My point, I think, is that recruits don't always work out....youknowwhatImean..anyone want my "Final 4 by '94" t-shirt before I give it to DI?

I WANT ANOTHER FAT KID FROM NY!
There is no Vernal High. It's Uintah High. They're also the Utes.

Yes. I was serious. Krysko must have been very persuasive, because right now we stack up horribly against those standards.

I think our former coach will become smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror. I hope Utah fans will stop talking about him so that can happen faster.

Mystery polish recruit to Utah being talked about. Krysto mentioned a player at Crimson Club luncheon and said "If you liked Andrew Bogut, your gonna love this guy."

SoCalPat did some sleuthing and came up with this guy.

If it is this guy and he can play next year, that is a major recruiting win for Krysto.

If it's Karnowski, we're not getting him this year as he announced today that he will play with his Polish pro team, but won't sign a contract/get paid, allowing him to come stateside in 2012. Damn.

Justin Seymour, a 6-4 combo guard from Georgia committed to the Utes today. Not a star recruit but did have offers from San Diego St and Ole Miss. Good shooter and defender. Decent pickup. Gives the Utes three commits for 2012 with Loveridge and Hearlihy.

Utes are finalists for both Ben Carter and Adonis Filer. Be nice to land one of those two.

Except for Loveridge, this look like standard Boylen fare. I hope K is a better coach than Boylen was.

Ben Carter would be a very impressive get for Krysto. Seymour looks like he fills a need, but nothing too impressive.

Carter is the guy that we need to get, but it is going to be really tough going up against UNLV and Oregon for him.

The problem is that we are not the best-looking girl at the dance. Krysko's success will depend on how well he can coach most of his recruits up, at least in the first 2-3 years.

I agree. (These are better rated recruits than BYU tends to get.)

Are either one of them a PF/C type?

Carter is a 6'8 PF. He has an offer from just about everyone in the MWC, including BYU.

The word is that it's between UNLV and Utah, with an edge to UNLV.

Loveridge is upgraded to ESPN 92 and is ESPN 100.
