      Yeah. What the hell, Tex?
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Yea, I thought the quote was going to be something like, "it was a screw job and kept my teammates and I from getting to the final 4" and because he said that was dismissed from the team.

        • This reminds me of those forced Daniel Pearl type confessions with a gun pointed at you just off camera.

I wonder if Davies was holding a copy of today's newspaper while he gave that interview?

I hope he has moved beyond it. But with the perspective of years, whether he blames anyone for it or not, there is no way he will not come to see that as a once in a lifetime opportunity missed.

Not as much once he makes it to the final four this year or next.

It was trully awful. I remember driving to Idaho Falls after BYU beat SDSU in San Diego and I kept telling my wife that this BYU team really had a shot to get to the Final 4 and win it all. I kept trying to help her to understand how trully amazing that was. Then 72 hours later I can still recall that feeling as my balls were yanked up through my throat.

I have recovered, I hope Brandon does as well, but for the lifeling BYU fan it might always be a tough one to remember.

Ditto. Still makes me sick to my stomach for many reasons.

I have loved BYU sports since the late 70's. I have long accepted that BYU hoops would never be able to make a run. Thinking that for many years, with the added reinforcement of BYU's much publicized post season challenges, presents a large impediment for one to trully believe a team is one of the nation's elite teams. Before the game in San Diego against SDSU, I knew last year's team was good and thought a sweet 16 or maybee elite 8 was feasible if the gratuitous "things went our way and we got the right matchups" worked out. When I watched BYU dismantle a legitimate top 20 SDSU squad, when Jimmer was not the scoring workhorse, in San Diego I really believed Rose had assembled something never before assembled in BYU history - a legitimate threat to win it all. I am not kidding, I came away really believing they were a definite elite 8 club and had as good a chance to win it all as anyone.

I have recovered from the disapointment, I think being there against UNM in the MC helped to get it all out quick, and I hope Brandon does as well. But that team had enough pieces to beat anyone in the nation and not every player would have had to play their perfect game for it to happen.
