I don't know if there is someone who thinks they're making some bold stand that BYU will be respected for, but they're not. No one will respect BYU for this. It will come across as bizarre and overly harsh.

I'm very familiar with BYU and while I'm not surprised by these types of things, I think they are terrible for both the University and the individual. If he was having sex, it certainly does help him spiritually or temporally to boot him out of school mid-semester.
